How long will it be cute,
All this crying in my room?

****************

"This is your room. The washroom is on the left. I've put in fresh towels and other toiletries there, but if you need anything else, let me know." Aarti told Zoya.

Zoya looked around the room. The walls were painted in white, there was a queen size bed in the middle, window on the right and a dressing table on the left, beside the washroom. Rohit was a corporate lawyer, so it wasn't a surprise for Zoya that they had a nice apartment in a high-class society.

"Thank you so much." Zoya genuinely said.

"Would you stop already?" Aarti snapped, "If I was in your situation, would you not do this for me?"

Zoya smiled and nodded.

"Now give this little munchkin to me, and you get some rest." Aarti took the baby in her arms.

"Would you be able to handle her alone?" Zoya asked.

"Yes, now sleep." Aarti assured her and walked out of the room.

Zoya took out a suit from her bag and went to take a shower. It was late afternoon, but she still decided to take a nap after cleaning up. When she woke up, the sky was dark outside. She freshened up, wrapped her dupatta around her neck and came out of the room. In the living room, she found Aarti and Rohit playing with her daughter. He must have just come back from work because he was still in his formal suit.

"Hi, Rohit." Zoya made her presence known.

"Zoya, hey!" He stood up and side-hugged her. "It is so good to see you."

"Yeah," Zoya was nervous. Even though she knew he was a great man, she still had some fear that he would see her as a burden.

Rohit sensed her awkwardness. He knew no matter how much he and Aarti would tell her that they were more than okay with her being here, she wouldn't be totally convinced. In situations like these, actions speak louder than words.

"How about we go out for dinner?" He suggested.

"Yes, let's take Zoya to that Chinese place." Aarti piped in.

They all got dressed, and Zoya also fed the infant before leaving. The dinner went great. It had been so long since Zoya had dined out. During college days, Zoya and Aarti used to save up their pocket money to go eat at a street side chinese stall every week. But then they both got married, and Rizwan never bothered to take her out.
