Life was a willow and it bent right to your wind.

"Zee," Kian shouted and waved his hand to attract attention. That worked because Zoya saw him in the crowd outside the arrivals gate of the Delhi airport.
With one hand, she was pushing the luggage cart and the other was holding Sehrish's hand. She walked faster towards Kian.
"Hey," He hugged her, a little longer. He was stressed about her going to Jaipur alone and meeting that pathetic excuse of a man, and seeing her come back absolutely fine was such a relief.
"How was the trip?" He asked, finally pulling away.
"It was awesome." Zoya was beaming. A little time with her family had done wonders to her mood.
Kian then bent down and scooped Sehrish in his arms. "And how is my doll?"
Sehrish rested her head on Kian's shoulder and her one hand grabbed his cheek. The little girl was obsessed with cheeks and left no chance to play with Rohit and Kian's.
"Mama took me to the pool. And we shopped with khala." She started rambling in her baby voice, "and oh, she also took me to chu- chuau.."
Zoya smiled at her baby's efforts to pronounce the word correctly and decided to help her, "Chokhi Dhani, Sehru."
"Yes, Chokhi dani," Sehrish bobbed her head, "there, I sat on a camel."
"Camel?" Kian fake gasped. "What are you saying? Our tiny Sehru got on a giant camel?"
Sehrish giggled and nodded.
"Weren't you scared?" He continued asking while they walked towards the car.
"Yes, but mama was there with me."
And the ride from the airport to Zoya’s home was filled with the innumerable things that Sehrish had to tell Kian. And he took part in it with utmost sincerity. Zoya loved Kian as her best friend, but she respected him for treating Sehrish like an absolute princess. She knew that Sehrish didn’t have a father, but Rohit and Kian made their best efforts to be that male figure in her life. And Zoya was grateful about that.
Upon reaching her apartment building, Zoya invited Kian up, but he had to make a rain check because it was his parents' anniversary and he needed to get back home before dinner time.
When Malti opened the door for them, Sehrish jumped in her arms and told her that she missed her so much.
"You look like you've grown so much in the past days." Malti commented.
"Children grow, M." Sehrish chuckled cutely. She had gotten into the habit of calling Malti M because it felt more cute to her. Zoya tried to correct it, but Malti asked to let it be. She actually loved hearing Sehrish call her M in her baby voice.
