All these people think love's for show
but I would die for you in secret.

***********

A week before Diwali, Malti left for Mumbai. She'd be gone for ten days, so Zoya had requested her boss to let her work from home, which was granted without any fuss.

The first day after Malti left, Zoya woke up a little later than usual since she didn’t have to get ready for the office. A few minutes past 9, her doorbell rang. She opened the door and found Shahveer on the other side.

"Hey," She lazily smiled.

He checked her out from top to bottom. She was in her pajamas, sporting a messy bun. "Are you not going to the office?"

When he said that, she realized that he must be waiting for her at the lift. "Ohh, no. Actually I am working from home this week."

"Why? Are you okay?" Suddenly his tone was worrisome. "Is Sehrish okay?"

And she found him adorable with that cute frown on his face. "Everyone's fine. Actually Malti has gone to Mumbai to see her family for Diwali. So I have to stay with Sehru."

"Okay," He nodded his head with a normal expression, but he felt a little sad that he won't be able to see her every morning for a few days.

"I will take your leave then." He said, glancing at his watch.

"Okay. Have a nice day." She wished him.

He smiled. "I will."

Of course he would, after all, she wished him.

The next day, at 9 sharp, Shahveer was standing at her door again.

"I just wanted to wish you good morning." He told her.

He tried, he really did, but he just couldn't leave for work without seeing her.

Zoya giggled. "You just came by to say good morning?"

He shrugged. "You've grown on me. I can't start my day without seeing your face."

Her mouth parted at what he just told her. How can he, so effortlessly, leave her speechless every damn time?

The day after that, she knew he'd come again. So this time, she was waiting for him. Still in her night clothes, but she had combed her hair and applied some lip balm. As soon as the doorbell went off, she jumped on her feet and rushed to open the door. Taking a deep breath, she pulled the door open.

And there he was.

"Hi," She smiled.

"Good morning," He greeted her.

She wished him back and then they both just stood there, staring at one another.

"Well, I gotta leave if I don't want to get late." He finally said after a few minutes.
