Arlo
I paced left and right waiting for Westin's dad, Jeremy, to call me. It was already midnight and I was woken up by him, 3 hours ago, asking if Westin was with me. I remember I did ask him to keep me updated, so I was currently waiting for him to call me back.
I wanted to call Westin myself but it was clear that he didn't want to talk to anyone since he wasn't even answering his on dad's call. When 1 am swung by I couldn't wait anymore, I dialled Jeremy's number and called him to check if Westin had showed up yet.
"Arlo, I'm sorry, I forgot to call back." He answered on the third ring and his voice sounded drowsy, he probably fell asleep.
"It's okay, how is Westin?"
Of course, I wanted to ask him more like if Westin was calm or if he fought with Mr Saunders but I decided to be discreet about the matter.
"Oh he is okay, he slept at Callen's. Thanks for checking up on him, Arlo."
"Oh okay...thank you and I apologize for waking you up." I quickly said, realising Westin did not confront his dad yet.
"No, it's okay...good night, Arlo." He waited for me to say goodnight then hang up.
I sighed collapsing on the bed. I wanted to help Westin but it was clear I had no impact in his life so all I could do was watch out for him in the sidelines maybe he'll need me. I somehow fell asleep and woke up around eight thirty.
So I decided to take a bath and do some spring cleaning around the house, I started with my room then moved on to the living room. I didn't realise how much time had passed by until Tobias woke up and told me he was hungry. I knew for sure it had to be around twelve since that was usually the time Tobias woke up on weekends and I was right the clock read 12:30.
"Are you cleaning the floor insides too? Why'd you move the couch?" Tobias asked walking down stairs looking like he already took a bath which was weird he usually took a bath at evening during the weekends.
"Where are you going?" I asked him raising a brow.
"You forgot it's the weekend aka Westin's dad anniversary which you promised to attend." He told me and my eyes grew round.
Yep, I forgot about that. I promised Jeremy I'd come early. He was probably expecting me right now. I quickly put the couch back in place and ran up stairs and changed from my cotton pants to some navy blue shorts, a button up shirt plaid on top of a white shirt and blue sneakers.
"How do I look?" I asked walking in the living room finding both mom and Tobias sitting there.
"Lovely." Mom answered looking up at me.
"You look okay now let's go." Tobias answered walking towards me and ignoring mom.
"Where are you going, Arlo? Toby doesn't want to tell me anything." She inquired.
I already knew Tobias was angry at mom, well, him and mom never really get along so it wasn't surprising to hear he was ignoring her.
"Why do you care? You're barely here anyway." Tobias snapped.
"Tobias." I warned him and he only glared at mom who gave him a sad smile.
"It's okay, Arlo...he is right and I was planning to apologize about that. I'm sorry and I promise I stopped this habit of mine of deserting you guys." She tried to convince us.
I wanted to believe her but she wasn't making it easy. Mom made a lot of promises like how she'd come to Tobias' soccer matches or how she'd take us to vacation to spend time together once in a while.
