Arlo
"I am going on a date tomorrow!" Finn squealed as we walked out of school and to the school parking lot.
I squealed, sharing the same excitement as him. It only took him two weeks after breaking up with Garrett to move on, and I am undeniably happy for him. I asked him who the lucky guy was, and he chuckled nervously, staring at the ground and mumbling, 'I dunno'.
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"It's a blind date...we only spoke on Instagram; we both never posted or did video or voice calls."
"How are you not sure he is not like fifty, a stalker, or worse, Garrett?" I tried to reason; what Xander did to me made me realize how dangerous the internet was, and I didn't want him to get hurt because some prick got a turn-on out of it. His excited expression turned sour, and I sighed as I looked up at him. I was just being cautious; I'd never forgive myself if anything happened to Finn, and I hadn't said anything.
"He isn't fifty, but he is older than me...nineteen in community college—and lives around town. I know you're worried about me, but don't be...he seems genuine, maybe too good to be true but- " I grew even more sceptical, and he noticed. "I have a good feeling about him, Arlo...I'll meet him somewhere public; Steve's karaoke...He said he is a horrible singer, and I am too, so we decided to go to a karaoke bar to see who is worse. I'll link your phone to 'Find My Phone' so you know where I am at all times, okay?"
I nodded, giving him a small smile. How could I say no? He seemed so excited about the whole idea. He further told me how it was when I finally noticed Westin's car parked at the corner of the school gates.
"Westin's here...I'll text you after work, okay?" I told Finn, and he nodded, giving me an unfamiliar look.
"So you guys are official, huh?" He spoke up, and I nodded. "Are you sure he is...He isn't like my brother?" He asked concerned, and I understood why. It was clear as day that he feared Westin was another Xander. I couldn't help but fear the same thing at first, but from the time I spent with Westin, I figured out a few things about him. He didn't like dilly-dallying, so if anything was to change in our relationship, he would voice it out. It was both easing and scary at the same time.
"He is different, and if you're worried, you can hang with us this Saturday; we're going out-"
"What about Tobias?"
I liked the fact that he was concerned about me leaving my little brother alone then again why wouldn't he be when the last time I left him with Tobias I ended up in the hospital.
"He'll come too...so will Callen so you don't have to worry you won't be third wheeling."
"Oh, I am in then." He said this before waving goodbye and saying he would text me once I was done with work.
"Hey." I greeted Westin, leaning in and giving him a light kiss on the cheek. His face brightened up as he smiled at me.
"Hey, yourself," he replied, his eyes somewhat mischievous as he locked them onto mine. "How was school?" Making no attempt to drive, clearly, he was not asking out of courtesy; he truly wanted to know how my day was going so far.
I sighed, leaning back against his car, feeling a sense of comfort wash over me. Us dating has to be the best choice I have made so far, and as I have established, Westin has been truthful about everything, and by everything...I mean everything. Just yesterday, he described in full detail how much he would like to have coitus because I told him I was naked. We were talking on the phone; I was in the tub and didn't want to hang up. I can not lie I liked it.
"Good, I got an A on the English paper, and Finn's going on a date tomorrow. That's basically it. How was your day?"
"It's been alright, and did you just say Finn's going on a date tomorrow? Is it a blind date?" He asked, and I nodded. It was technically a blind date since Finn and the guy had not seen each other yet. "Huh."
