Jeremy was fuming as he made his way to Ethan and Westin didn't look like he was stopping him anytime soon so I spoke up hoping I could talk Jeremy out of having a quarrel with his husband when there were guests around.
"Jeremy, could you calm down for a sec-"
"Calm down?!" Both Jeremy and Westin exclaimed.
I couldn't help feeling like I was overstepping but I didn't want Jeremy to fight in front of his guests and I'm sure he didn't want that too. He was furious and I completely understood why his husband failed to tell him a significant detail about his son for three years now. So I let out a breath and looked up at the two men in front of me.
"I know you're both angry but let's not forget today is your anniversary." My eyes went to Jeremy. "I'm not asking you to stop being pissed, no be pissed as much you want but can you please have the quarrel after the guests are gone. I doubt Jillian nor Tobias would like to see you guys fight. So can you please not do this now?" I begged and Jeremy nodded understanding what I was trying to say.
"I'm going to my room, if anyone asks tell them I'm not feeling well." He said, heading upstairs.
I looked up at Westin and I waited for Jeremy to get in his room before I apologized to Westin.
"I'm sorry for getting in your family affairs." My voice came out low.
"You were right...I wasn't thinking, I wanted Pa to get an earful and forgot about the anniversary happening downstairs." He finally let go of my hand.
Before I could say a word Callen showed up with Noah. Callen was holding a bowl full of meatloaf with ketchup on top. Probably leftovers since I noticed how much Callen enjoys those.
"Westin, I was starting to think I'd go without seeing you." Noah grinned at Westin who looked genuinely happy to see him.
"Hey, uncle Noah." Westin greeted.
"Where's your, dad? I need to get going and you know how he gets when I leave without saying goodbye."
"Bedroom," Westin replied and Noah nodded leaving me, Westin, and Callen.
"I can't believe you missed out on this..." Callen continued stuffing his mouth with meatloaf. " By the way, I ate your share too." He then walked to Westin's room.
Westin just looked disgusted as he stared at his best friend leave and I couldn't help but laugh at the two.
"I guess I'll get going," I stated getting Westin's attention.
"Now? Can't you stay a bit longer?" He pouted and I chuckled shaking my head, he looked so cute.
"No, I came with Tobias and I don't want him to see...you know," I said referring to the fight his dads were going to have and he nodded.
"I'll give you a ride." He started going to his room before I could decline the offer a minute later he came back and I heard Callen ask where he was going, Westin told him to relax and eat his meatloaf but Callen followed him out.
"You're not leaving me here." He stated grabbing the car keys from Westin and walking ahead.
Unfazed Westin took my hand and walked us to the living room where Jillian and Tobias were. When Tobias saw me and he quickly shifted away from Jillian and made his way toward me.
"Are we leaving?" He asked, after greeting Westin.
I nodded and he made his way outside without saying goodnight to Jillian who only sat in the corner flustered. What is up with those two? Westin seemed to be thinking what I was thinking because he was also staring at Jillian.
