A Shadow's Fate

There's a shadow on this earth,
That walks amongst us all.
With each death and birth,
Their figure will not fall.

They see all that could be,
And all that we are.
They see potentiality,
And into our past.

If they could speak to us,
They would tell us to push through.

But they can't.

We see her not.
Nor speak nor hear.
Yet we sense that she is near.
Our heartbeats linked and lost and taught.

Yet they're felt no more.

These are the flickers of the lights.
The moments in the corners of our eyes.
The shadows lost when the sun is bright.
The moments we dare not ask why.

But why would I speak of such being?
One lost from sight and sound and seeing.
One we could have known before.
A shadow of a person seen no more.

This may be because they're felt by some.
And you might not be the only one.
Knowing that there's someone there.
Some with knowledge beyond compare.

Close your eyes and listen close.
Not to sound but silence's host.
The nothing in the room abound.
That non-stop ringing of nothing's sound.

That sound is shadow of your fate and past.
That sound is the moments you wished would last.
That sound you and that sound is me.

That sound is potentiality.
