Sonic Amends

Chapter 1: New Beginings

"It is said that on June 23, 20XX, Dr. Eggman has started negotiations with G.U.N. After years of terror and agony the Doctor has put the people through, such as threatening to nuke Station Square, or quite literally starting the Metal Zombie Apocalypse."

"With news about Dr. Eggman's possible pardon from his crimes against humanity along side a large portion of land being given to him, protesters and riots have begun to break out in many major cities such as Sunset City and Central City."

"We now head inside where we await G.U.N.'s final decision on the matter."

"Dr. Ivo Robotnik, for court records we shall summarize the agreement taking place." G.U.N. Commander Abraham Towers stated as he gently tapped a stack of papers on the desk before him.

"You are hereby retiring your evil stature in turn you're being provided 425,856,000 acres of land to build your empire which will be under watch of The Guardian Units of Nations. If you are found breaking this agreement G.U.N. has authorization to detain you till further notice. Is that correct?"

"Yes" Dr. Eggman simply stated

With a gruff exhale Abraham sighed the documents, cementing the agreement legally. "Then I hereby pardon you of all previous crimes committed."

With all the legalities settled Dr. Eggman exited the court house being swarmed with news reporters all of them bombarding him with a million questions, one of them catching his attention over the others.

"Doctor, what are your plans now that you retired as a villain?"

Dr. Eggman cleared his throat demanding the attention of everyone around him as he unveiled his plan "My plan is quite simple, I'll be creating the Eggman Empire. However instead of conquering land and forcing everyone under my rule, I'll be taking a different approach to things."

"What approaches are you deciding to take this time around then? What incentive are you willing to give people to join your empire rather than stay where they are?"

"Currently I do not have any incentives for people. However I am willing to try a more... passive approach to things. Unfortunately time is of the essence and I must be on my way." With that Eggman walked past the onslaught of protesters and news reporters to his Eggmoblie.

Whilst on his way home, Eggman had contacted Orbot and Cubot to begin preparations for the New Eggman Empire "Orbot, I need you to gather every architect blue print and schematic we have on file. Cubot grab Metal and wait for further instructions when I arrive home."

With thier instructions given Cubot raced off to find Metal Sonic while Orbot skimmed through every file on the Eggnet gather all the architectural files.

Once his orders was given, Dr. Eggman leaned back in his seat and let out a long exhale he didn't know he was holding. "No more evil schemes, no more destruction and death on my hands, no more blue rodents to fight... I'm free..."

He reminisced back to the first time he met and fought Sonic, South Island. Eggman was capturing small animals to power his badniks so he can in turn terraform the land to create his empire.

A small smile snuck it's way onto Robotnik's face as he continued to reminisce about the past, but then a certain memory stopped him. It was these memories that made him quit evil to begin with.

Back during the Metal Virus, he and Sonic had met at Barricade Town and Sonic had asked him why go back to villainy. Why not be LIKE Mr. Tinkerer. Then it got him thinking of his time as his amnesia alter ego. It felt nice aiding the folks at Spiral Hill Village, hearing the kids all laugh in joy at his creations, receiving thanks from the elderly for repairing things around the village. It all filled him with a sense of pride and joy.

Eggman's train of thoughts were halted as he arrived to his base. As he exited the Eggmobile and walked down the corridors to his office Orbot and Cubot were quick to be as his side. "Orbot, status report on those schematics."

"Ah yes doctor, they're currently in the process of being unloaded sir. By the time we reach your office they should be up and ready to go!" Orbot informed, thrilled with this new leaf turn the Doctor was doing.

"Uhhh, boss. You said that me and Metal have a super secret special mission!" Cubot interjected, enthusiasm in his voice as HE was given a mission.

The three entered the office and Eggman took his seat at the computer. A soft hummed escaping him as he looked over the schematics present. "I do have a mission for you, however I need to comb over these blueprints. We have big plans ahead of us, and time is of the essence. Orbot, fetch me Sage."

"Right away Doctor." Orbot then dashed out the office to retrieve Sage.

Eggman was mulling over the blue prints of all his bases and fortress as well as the map of the land he now legally owns. Planning where things should go, muttering to himself of the endless possibilities ahead of him on this latest project.

Once Eggman had this thoughts in order he wasted no time building his master piece, taking his time to make every minute detail as perfect as humanly possible. As for his old bases he too had a plan for that, but he'll worry about that issue later.
