Chapter 4: Eggman's Announcement

It's been one day since Eggman's pardon and he's already assembled a small settlement, enough to house 10 people. The housing are fully furnished coupled with running water and electricity.

Having this small area established, Eggman decided to broadcast a world wide announcement. Big screen tv in public squares, in home tvs, phones, tablets, any electronic device.

"I've come to make an announcement! As you all know I've been given a pardon on all my criminal deeds in the past. I am currently working on a big project! Currently I have a small settlement establish and would like volunteers to come and stay at the beginnings of the Eggman Land. You will be provided a roof over your head, running water, electricity for free. As well as stable jobs if needed. For more details pertaining to this offer please feel free to use the contact info being provided on the screen."

After the big announcement and the list of ways to contact Eggman stayed on screen long enough for people to either remember or write down, their devices returned to normal.

Among the many citizens who saw the ad, one of them actually called Dr. Eggman's provided number, causing the good doctor to feel a sense of pride like never before. Picking up his phone he answered "This is Dr. Eggman speaking."

On the other line was a monotonous female voice "Uhh, I saw your ad. You claimed living there is rent free, right?"

"That is correct." The doctor replied

"And a job too?" The voice questioned

"That is also correct." The doctor answered

"One more question, if I had a lot of stuff at my current location, would you be able to also provide a way to transport my items to the new housing?"

"I can have that arranged, yes. I will need your address of course for the transport vehicle to arrive at."

The person on the other line gave Dr. Eggman her address and apartment number "Thank you for this opportunity."

The doctor couldn't help but smile when she thanked him "No no, thank you for having faith and joining the Eggman Empire. I'll have a shipment vehicle there soon."

And just like that Eggman has his first resident, first employee, first person to thank Ivo Robotnik rather than his temporary alter ego Mr. Tinkerer. He wasted no time deploying a cargo truck to the address provided to him.

With that all set in stone Dr. Eggman has his children assembled before him "I have big plans for you all."

"Even me boss?" Cubot interjected as he scratched his robotic scalp.

"Yes! Even you Cubot! Oh ho ho, this project can't possibly fail. Sage I'm giving you control over Eggman network, you are to make sure everything is running ship shape. Metal, you are head of security. Orbot you are in charge of empire architecture and future projects. And Cubot you are hear by in charge of entertainment and recreation! Now, I expect everyone to be on their best behavior from here on out."

Eggman then dismissed his children, all except Metal Sonic "Metal, a word."

The blue hedgehog halted in his tracks at Eggman's request and awaited further instructions.

There was a brief moment of silence before Eggman broke the bed news to Metal "You know how i hate reprogramming my creations. So I'll only say this once. Your primary directive is no longer to take down Sonic rather it's new directive is to protect everyone in Eggman Land. Their safety should be just as important as mine... well maybe not AS important but you still get the point."

The pure look of absolute fury written on Metal Sonic's face spoke millions of words. His hand began to rattle at the mere though of his only purpose in life being taken from him. Not wanting that one thing taken from him Metal Sonic left the Eggbase.

Eggman sighed deeply as he sat down in his chair, perhaps he could construct another military bot.

Meanwhile on the alps of White Park a certain thrill seeking hedgehog is snowboarding down the tallest peak.

Wind rushing past his quills, the cold brisk air heightening his senses, the blitzing speed of flying down the mountain was just the right itch the hedgehog needed "WOHOOO!"

Unfortunately his enthusiastic yell awakened an avalanche that was now barreling towards not only Sonic but the Lodge Resort at the bottom of the mountain.

"Me and my big mouth." Sonic groaned as he hopped off his snowboard and raced down to the resort to warn everyone of the incoming avalanche.

"Everyone brace for impact, there's an avalanche coming this way!" With that Sonic sped back outside to see if there were any people still out.

As Sonic zipped back and forth ensuring everyone was out of danger he was suddenly spear tackled through a tree by his carbon copy.
