Chapter 12: Getting Therapy and Going Home

Amy hummed softly as she pulled up the calendar on her office computer. With all six agents in her room sitting around and waiting patiently for Amy's next instructions. Confident in her abilities Amy knew she could at least get two good long sessions in and schedule others for another time. She wanted to make sure that everyone got a good chance to talk and vent while also making sure others weren't neglected "So for today's session, I can do Shadow and Omega. Then for tomorrow I'll do Mighty at 8am and Ray at 2pm. The day after that Sticks 8am and Rouge at 2pm. Any objections?"

Omega's hand instantly shot up "I object."

Having no other objections the four that were scheduled for another day took their leave, leaving Shadow and Omega behind.

Omega didn't the point of therapy, he was a machine who's sole purpose is to demolish eggman robots and aid his team in missions. With a robotic huff and what could be assumed as an unamused face Omega "I shall go first so that I can be done with this bull shit. Shadow get out."

Shadow stood up and waved a hand as he left the room, leaving Amy and Omega alone. Amy left her desk and walked over to where Omega was, sitting opposite of him in a chair "So Omega, you say you don't need therapy because you're a machine that doesn't feel. Yet you showcase alot of anger."

"Emotions or not, as a machine I still think logically." Omega countered Amy's claim. He sat there on the three seat couch, calm as a machine would be, but his words held emotions behind them. Majority of Eggman's creations had personalities, as if they were alive with souls.

"Well, why don't you tell me why you are angry Omega." Amy flipped a few pages on her clip board and clicked her pen, ready to jot down notes if need be.

Processing and recovering previous data from his memory bank, Omega took a moment to gather all the information before presenting it to Amy "I was locked up in a room to baby sit Shadow's pod. Me, a Weapon of Mass Destruction stripped of my purpose to become some Babysitter! Eggman took that from me! Stole that from me!" Omega howled out in fury as his metallic hands clenched into fists that shook with rage.

Writing down some important notes Amy nodded to herself. Then recent news came back to mind about Eggman "Omega, you do know you're not allowed to attack Eggman anymore. He signed a peace treaty of sorts with G.U.N." She remembered feeling a bit off about the news of Eggman being pardoned for his crime, she was unsure if anyone else saw the news. If they even watch the news anymore.

Omega's optics widened at the news, then quickly narrowed in fury as he processed the information Amy just presented him "What do you mean PEACE TREATY!?!" Omega raised a fist and slammed it down on the couch breaking it clean in half.

Amy didn't even flinch when Omega snapped, she kept a calm composure as she continued to work "Tell me Omega. With your purpose stripped from Eggman again, you're not allowed to attack him. How would you cope with that?"

With anger blinding Omega's logical thinking he blurted out his response "I AM GOING TO DEMOLISH EVER EGGMAN ROBOT THAT REMAINS!" Standing up e stormed out of the room in a huff.

Letting out a small sigh Amy wrote down some more notes before pulling out her phone to look at the time, it was almost 8pm. Standing up she poked her head out of her office and looked around "Are you ready Shadow?"

Shadow looked up at Amy and nodded as he pushed off the wall he was leaning on. Entering the office the first thing he noticed was the broken couch "What did you say to Omega?" Unable to sit on the sofa Shadow opted for a chair that sat off to the side of the sofa.

Sitting down in her own seat Amy let out a heavy sigh "I told Omega the recent news of Eggman being pardoned of all crimes by G.U.N." Grabbing her notepad Amy flipped to a new page ready to take new notes. Before Amy could begin Shadow's session he interrupted her.

"Wait, Eggman got pardoned of all crimes? What is he doing now then?" Shadow seemed intrigued yet concerned and worried. Where as the world saw Eggman's pardon live on tv Team Dark was on a mission at the time unknowing to the events of the world.

Amy nodded as she set her note pad down "Yeah, they pardoned him and gave him a large chunk of land where he's making Eggman Land. Actually it's already built now, the craziest part is that people are actually living there too!" Amy understood that what Eggman offered for those living in Eggman land was very compelling but didn't understand how anyone could actually trust Eggman.

Shadow simply nodded to this new information as he remained silent. He would probably go check it out sometime, see what the doctor has been up to.

Seeing Shadow remain silent gave Amy the green light to continue her session "So Shadow, ever since you're awakening you've always been busy. Be it work or something else, tell me have you ever stopped to process and fully grieve your past?"

"I have." Shadow nodded as she answered Amy's question. After the events of defeating Black Doom, regaining his memories and joining G.U.N Shadow took a week for himself to full grieve the loss of Maria and Gerald Robotnik.

Amy smiled at Shadow's answer as she wrote in her notepad, she the looked back up at Shadow "Tell me, on your fishing trips with Big what do you two talk about?" She was genuinely curious as she often heard from Big that he fishes with Shadow.

Shadow simply shrugged "Just fishing stuff really. I try to branch out my hobbies and fishing with Big is quite enjoyable." He was telling the truth, but was also withholding information from Amy. In truth Shadow would often vent to Big about work or personal troubles.

Humming Amy accepted this answer for now and decided to move on "Tell me, Omega seemed outraged of Eggman's pardon. What are your thoughts and opinions on it?" She had set her notepad down as she wanted to keep this for herself. Secretly Amy did kinda want to visit Eggman land just out of curiosity.

"I might visit, see what the doctor has been up to. You said G.U.N pardoned his crimes, while I don't agree, I trust my job." Shadow answered as he pulled out his phone to look at the time.

Amy nodded as she stood "Well you're free to go if you like. Enjoy the rest of your evening." She grabbed her notepad and placed it on desk.

Meanwhile, Rouge had exited the base and was outside. There was enough day light for her to make the trip. Spreading her wings out they began to flap repeated to lift her off the ground. She then took off to the sky heading to her secondary home, Angel Island.

The flight there was long and exhausting, Rouge could barely keep her eyes open by the time she finally could see the floating island in view. A small smile appeared on her face as she imagined being held and pampered by her boyfriend.

Slowly Rouge landed on the island and easily made her way to where she knew Knuckles would be. There was a large stone structure with large steps leading to the top, and at the very top sat the Echidna Guardian Knuckles.

Rouge's heels clicked with every step she took upwards, awakening the guardian. He sat up and stretched, popping a few joints in the process "Welcome home, how did your mission go?" He stood up meeting her half way to hold her closely.

Yawning Rouge draped herself over Knuckles and clung to him as if her life depend on it "It was exhausting. There were so many bots that Omega actually ran out of bullets twice." She chuckled at the memory of Omega just casually sitting down behind cover trying to replenish his ammo while being shot at. Shaking the memory away Rouge leaned up and kissed Knuckles deeply "What about you? Anything eventful happened today?"

Knuckles hummed softly as he recalled todays events "Tikal as per usual, tried to convince me to leave Angel Island again. I've went out exploring more of Sky Sanctuary's temples. Helped some chao eat. The usual." He smiled warmly for the bat as he swiftly picked her up bridal style and carried her back down the steps of the shrine.

Reaching the bottom of the steps Knuckled walked a little into the forest that surrounded the shrine and came upon a small wooden cabin. He carried Rouge inside and would sit her down on the couch "What would you like for dinner."

Rouge burst out laughing at the question "Oh honey, there's only so much you can make with fish and vegetables. Why don't you you surprise me then?" She reclined herself along the entirety of the couch and closed her eyes.

For dinner Knuckles cooked baked salmon with roasted seasoned asparagus with mashed potatoes. After the two enjoyed their dinner Knuckles washed the dishes and carried Rouge to bed where they cuddled for the night.
