Chapter 8: What You're Made of

With Team Fierce being provided transport and basic equipment, they left to their mission destination.

Topaz looked at Commander Towers, ready to say something but was beat to the chance by Towers "Has Team Dark returned from their mission yet?"

Topaz cleared her throat "Yes sir, shall I bring them here for you?"

"Yes" Commander Towers then turn off communications leaving Topaz in an empty room.

With a soft sigh and an inkling of an idea of what's about to happen Topaz set off to find Team Dark, hopefully in their offices doing their mission reports.

Rouge groaned as she leaned against her hedgehog companion "But Shadow, you owe me. Remember that time where I HAD TO CARRY YOU OUT!"

Wincing from Rouge's shouting and complaining Shadow caved into her request "Fine, I'll do your report. Just keep your mouth shut about what happened, rumors are hard to squash."

Rouge chuckled as she placed her paperwork on Shadow's desk "Darlin' no need to worry, your reputation is safe with me."

Before Rouge could return to her desk Topaz entered the office "Rouge, Shadow, retrieve Omega and meet me in the training room for your next assignment. I'll worry about your mission reports."

The two nodded as Topaz returned to the training room where Commander Towers was waiting "Sir they're on their way, but I have to say, you sent Team Fierce to one of our old facilities."

There was a small smile on his face "I'll explain everything soon, just be patient."

Shortly after Team Dark entered the training room and awaited further instructions, assuming they all had a new assignment already.

Commander Towers brought back the map location that was shown previously to Team Fierce "Intel spotted some shifty figures outside one of our old facilities. Now, this facility is shut down but there are still important items there such as discontinued weapons and outdated information. Go there and stop these intruders."

Team Dark all collectively saluted and exited the training room promptly.

Topaz turned to Towers "Care to explain? You're setting up Team Fierce, against Team Dark of all people!"

Commander Towers nodded as he waved away the map "Of course, I want to test the limits and capabilities of Team Fierce by utilizing our best agents. You'll be on coms for both team if anything gets overboard, but I have faith that Team Fierce can hold their own."

Topaz saluted "If you say so Commander, I just hope this doesn't put any strain on anyone."

With that Commander Towers turned off communications leaving Topaz in the empty training room. She sighed deeply and quickly headed to central hub to get in contact with both teams.

Central Hub was a big room with massive monitors along the walls and control panels everywhere. Topaz sat down at one of the panels and put on a headset "Team Fierce, can you read me?"

"See they did probe me! I'm hearing voices in my head!" Sticks yelled out in paranoia.

Ray gently put a hand on her shoulder "Calm down Hunter, Topaz is just contacting us though our ear pieces. To respond gently press on the ear piece and talk. Watch."

Letting go of Sticks shoulder he gently pressed on his ear piece "Aviator here, reading you loud and clear, over."

Mighty chuckled as he pressed on his ear piece "Ya gettin use to those nicknames already huh."

Panting softly Sticks raised a shaky hand up to her ear and pressed on her ear piece "Th-this is H-Hunter..." After a few moments of orientating which voice belonged to who, she slowly began to calm down.
