*EDITED😮‍💨*

"Wednesday, these outfits suck!" I whine, walking alongside my sister. We were currently on our way to the fencing practice. Wednesday has the idea to join the fencing team and I, of course, had to join her.

"You didn't have to come along with me" Wednesday simply stares ahead.

'Um, you're the one who gave me a whole thing about why we should join" I scoff, walking alongside Wednesday.

We stop at two doors, Wednesday reaching out to open them. "We're here"

We walk in, gaining the attention of a few fencers. I gulp as we continue walking, Wednesday discarding all the matches we were walking through.

"Hermanita, we could've easily walked on the side" I mumble, not daring to make eye contact or look in the direction of the people we interrupted. We continue walking before Wednesday stops suddenly, fixated on a certain match.

We simply stand there, somewhat awkwardly, until one of the fencers falls over and I couldn't hold in a small laugh.

"Coach, Coach, she tripped me." The boy frantically says, taking off his mask.

"It was a clean strike, Rowan."

The other player takes off their mask, and I remember her face almost immediately. It was Bianca, the supposed queen bee of Nevermore.

"Maybe if you whined less and practiced more, you wouldn't suck. Seriously, Coach, when am I gonna get real competition? Anyone else wants to challenge me?" I scoff at her entitled attitude as Wednesday suddenly steps up to face off Bianca.

"I do." Wednesday's voice rang through the room as it went in a suspenseful silence from all the other fencers. I look down, shaking my head. Of course, only she would pull something like this.

"Oh, you must be the psychopath they let in," Bianca says rather smugly.

"You must be the self-appointed Queen Bee. Interesting thing about bees. Pull out their stingers, they drop dead." Everyone either laughs or watches in awe. I, of course, had to laugh at this but I quickly shut it down as Bianca glares.

"Damn, ain't gotta get all hurt" My voice is no louder than a whisper.

"Rowan doesn't need you to come to his defense. He's not helpless, he's lazy." The boy, Rowan, was now standing, inhaler in hand beside the coach.

"Are we doing this or not?" Both Wednesday and Bianca put their masks on, getting in position for the match. I decided this was the perfect time for me to move to the side to not gather more attention.

"Dahlia!" I turn to the voice, realizing it was Yoko who was accompanied by Enid and Ajax. I sigh in relief as I walk over.

"Your sister really going to do this?"

"Of course, it's Wednesday we're talking about here"

"En garde." They start immediately, both doing all kinds of turns and flips. I watch in awe, standing beside Yoko and Enid. Suddenly, Wednesday's sword touches Bianca's uniform.

"Point to Wednesday."

They continue with the match and soon end up tied. My eyes move from the match to the boy from yesterday who was painting the mural, only this time his hair was down. His eyes soon meet mine though I quickly try my best to act as if I wasn't just staring at the boy.

"That first point was clearly beginner's luck. Let's finish this." I turn my attention back to the match at the sound of Bianca's voice.

"For the final point, I would like to invoke a military challenge. No masks. No tips. Winner draws first blood." Wednesday says, shocking everyone in the room, including me. Is she serious?
