*EDITED😮💨*
Both Wednesday and I were making our way to the archery club, wanting the extracurricular hunt to be over. "So, you see anything you like on the list?"
"These are all mediocre"
"Mediocre? Really?" I cock an eyebrow at her, a soft laugh escaping from my lips. We continue walking when we finally reach the archery club though there was only one person and I knew exactly who that was. Xavier.
"Huh. You actually showed up. Ever shot a bow and arrow before?" Xavier turns to look at Wednesday and I.
I nod excitedly, looking at the row of various targets some of which were already used.
"Only on live targets." I turn to Wednesday, scoffing at her answer playfully.
"Okay. Square stance. Load the arrow like this, yellow side out. Three fingers. Pull back and... let it fly." I watch as Xavier works through the motions, showing every step to Wednesday. "Any questions?"
"When's the last time you saw your roommate Rowan?" Wednesday asks, discarding the real reason we were here. Wednesday began to turn this into an interrogation just as she did with Bianca.
"You mean the one that was killed by a monster?" Xavier jokes. No one laughs. "The Harvest Festival. I haven't talked to him since. But his side of the room was all packed this morning."
"You know, telekinesis can mess with your head, you know. He's... It started to freak me out." Xavier continues. "So what's the deal with you and Tyler?"
Wednesday simply stares at him, no words coming from her. Why did he care about them?
"I'm sorry, were you the only one who got to ask non-archery questions?"
"There is no deal. He was doing me a favor driving me out of town." Wednesday answers.
"Yeah, word of advice. Steer clear."
"Why? Because he's a normie?" Wednesday seemed almost protective of Tyler, something I didn't think was possible of such a person, especially to a normie who isn't family.
"Tyler and his friends are jerks. They can't stand that this school's propping up their Podunk town."
"Says the boy whose life was served on a silver platter." I chuckle softly but stop soon after Xavier shoots me a glare.
"Hey, girls in glass houses-"
"Should throw bigger stones." Wednesday cuts him off, picking up the bow and arrow, and doing as Xavier instructed.
"At least I'm not an elitist snob" She throws an apple up, quickly hitting it dead on with the arrow onto the target.
"Ouch," Xavier mumbles. I just stand, watching the tense scene unfold in front of me.
"Now, shall we head to the next activity?" Wednesday turns to me, waiting for an answer. I look down at the clipboard in my hands, checking what was next on our list. Beekeeping.
"You know, I think I might choose archery, I don't really like these other things and I'm actually good at this, sorry Hermanita" Though it was true, I was also staying to learn more about Xavier. Of course, I would never admit this to anyone. Wednesday says a quick goodbye.
"So, you want to practice?" Xavier holds up the bow and arrow, smiling softly at me. I nod, tying my hair back in a low bun.
"Hey look I'm sorry about Wednesday" I stare into his green eyes, inching closer to him, our bodies almost touching. "Well," I grab the bow and arrow from his hands, turning away from him, and staring at the row of targets. "Let's practice, shall we?"
"Yeah okay, you know the steps I told you?" I shake my head no, causing a small laugh from Xavier. God, everything he did put me in a trance.
"Well, sorry I don't really pay attention to the steps, it's more about hitting your target" I shrug, chuckling softly.
"Okay so, square stance" He demonstrates his words, while I try my best to follow. He nods continuing. "Load the arrow, yellow side out." I place the arrow in, doing as he instructed once more.
"Like this?" I ask, having no clue what the hell I was doing.
"Uh," He laughs. "It's actually more like this" He stands behind me, placing his arms over mine, fixing the arrow placement. I try my best to cover my face, not wanting him to see the tint of pink resting on my cheeks.
"Okay, so three fingers, then pull back" He moves my hands to follow his motions, his chest now moving closer, only inches away from my back, causing his breath to run down my neck. "Now, let it fly" We release, watching the arrow. I watch as it reaches two rings away from the center.
"Hey, I did it!" I move away from his touch, pumping my fist in the air in victory.
"Yeah, that's better than me" He points to the other targets, arrows all scattered, though nowhere near the center. I giggle.
"Thank you for helping" I stand in front of him, looking up at his face. I stare at his beautiful bright green eyes and his neutral full lips. I only wanted to move closer.
I soon turn away, finding that Thing was standing behind a haystack, pointing off into the school.
"Hey, Xavier? I have to get going, sorry I'll stay for a full session next time!" I grab my bag, leaving off in the direction Thing pointed at, picking him up quickly to not draw Xavier's attention.
"Oh, okay" Xavier waves in my direction, with a smile on his face. "See you tomorrow night!" He turns back to his archery practice, leaving me with a blush on my face.

I was following Things' direction, Wednesday now stood beside me. "What the hell is this even about?"
"Rowan, he's leaving right now and we need answers" I nod as we make our way over to the boy who was currently placing his bags into a purple car. "Rowan! We need to talk"
Rowan sighs turning his attention to us. "Wednesday I'm not allowed to speak to anyone"
"You had a lot to say when you tried to kill me. Told me I was destined to destroy the school, remember? Where did you get that drawing?" Rowan's jaw clenched in frustration.
"I just went into the woods to clear my head. Then you came after me."
"Rowan we all know that's not true" I chime in, staring the boy down.
"Wednesday, Dahlia." We turn to the voice, being faced with Miss Thornhill. "You shouldn't be here."
"Yeah, back off and leave me alone" Rowan opens the car door, gets in, and slams the door quite harshly. I sigh, turning to Wednesday as the car leaves.
"What now?" Wednesday doesn't answer but nods down at Thing who was now clinging to the back of the car, planning on following the car. "Well, now that's taken care of, want to get to class?"
