*EDITED😮💨*
I walked into class, spotting Wednesday talking with Thing who was hidden behind a plant. "How do you lose him in a bathroom with no windows? A lefty wouldn't have failed me."
"Jeez, harsh much?" I mutter, now standing beside Wednesday. I watch as Thing sulks from my sisters words.
"Don't sulk. I'm going to have to find new evidence myself, since you lost our only lead." Suddenly, Bianca, Kent, and Divina stand facing us, Bianca with a smirk on her face.
"I see you finally made a friend. Even if it is a plant" I scoff at Biancas attitude, turning to face her.
"I go for quality over quantity." Wednesday smirks walking off to the desk leaving Bianca agitated. I walk away as well, making my way over to Yoko and Enid.
"Hey, guys!" I stood in front of the two girls both of them turning their attention to me with smiles on their faces.
"Hey Dahlia, you excited for your first class?"
"Ah yes, class, such a great place to be!" I joke, all three of us laughing.
"Well, you should probably get a seat. Uh, there are only two seats at every desk so.." Yoko looks around, trying to find somewhere that wasn't already taken by other students, me doing the same.
"You can sit with me." I turn around to see Xavier, an open sketchbook in front of him. I quickly thank him as I sit down and nod in gratitude. I gather my books and turn to observe Xavier as he hovers his hands over a spider design. The spider soon detaches from the paper and begins to creep over the surface. I gaze in wonder.
"I doubt Dahlia is impressed by your tricks, Mr. Thorpe." I turn towards the voice. It was Miss Thornhill. She now had a blue jumpsuit on with red boots. It was definitely...clothes.
"Admit it, you're a little impressed." Xavier gloats.
"Eh, I've seen better" I strike the spider with a smirk while it disintegrate into dust. Small giggles or whispers could be heard throughout the entire class.
"Well, Wednesday, Dahlia, we're thrilled to have you join us on our journey into the world of carnivorous plants." Miss Thornhill gestures to the plants surrounding her and the class with a smile.
"Now... who can tell us the name of this beauty?" She shows a beautiful ghost orchid, or Dendrophylax lindenii if you wanted to get more technical. I watch as Bianca's hand goes up.
"Dendrophylax lindenii." I look over, finding the answer came from Wednesday.
"Otherwise known as the ghost orchid," Bianca adds, her voice coming off with a wave of annoyance.
"First discovered on the Isle of Wight in 1854." Wednesday finishes.
"Very good, Wednesday. You may have competition for first chair, Bianca." Miss Thornhill says, causing a wave of 'ooohs' from the class. Wow, so funny. "Wednesday, perhaps you can identify the ghost orchid's greatest qualities."
"Resilience and adaptability. It's able to thrive in even the most hostile environments."
"But its mere presence can change the ecosystem, causing the established plants to reject it." Bianca rebuttals.
"Actually, it's usually because the native species is allowed to thrive unchecked." I cut in, though I knew I couldn't get another word out without the two cutting me off.
"Nothing a Weedwackercouldn't fix," Wednesday adds, a smirk on her face.
"You can most certainly try," Bianca adds.
"Are we still talking about flowers?" My attention turns to Xavier. I chuckle quietly, everyone else doing the same.
"Thank you, ladies, for those illuminating insights." Miss Thornhill adds, trying to cut the tension that was in the air. "Clearly the plants aren't the only carnivores in class today."

"Hey, no archery practice?" I ask, walking up to Xavier who was currently sitting with his group of friends in the quad. He turns to face me, quickly closing his sketchbook. "Hey, why are you so cagey with that thing?"
"It's nothing, and no practice we need to prepare for Poe cup" Xavier's friends erupt in excited chatter.
"The hell is a Poe cup?" I ask, sitting down on the space he had cleared for me.
"Well, each dorm has to choose an Edgar Allen Poe story for inspiration for their canoe. The race is on the water and it's also a foot race. The best part is no rules" Xavier explains. I nod.
"Huh, sounds very prestigious, yet intriguing" I chuckle.
"Aren't you doing it?" Xavier asks, placing his sketchbook back down on the table instead of hiding on his lap.
"Not that I know off, but I know Yoko is. What story you guys choose?"
"The Cask of Amontillado, you know it?" Xavier replies, opening his sketchbook up to show me.
"Of course, Montresor tricks a drunk Fortunato by trapping him inside an ancient catacomb as an act of revenge" Xavier shoots a questioning look. "I'm an Addams, Edgar Allen Poe was basically my bedtime stories" I laugh, resting my face on my palms.
"Yeah, well we painted our canoe to match the carnival theme along with the costumes"
"Costumes? You wear costumes for this thing?" Xavier nods as he opens his sketchbook showing me the page he hid ealier. "This is what our outfits are going to look like"
"Woah, thats actually really cool!" I gush staring at the medival joker styled outfit sketched on the page. I couldn't help but imagine what Xavier would look like in it. "Now I wish I was doing it" I sigh, grabbing my bag.
"Where are you going?" Xavier questions as I get up from my seat.
"I am going back to my dorm to see what our hall is doing for Poe Cup, because if its as badass as medieval jokers I will most definitely use my charm to join our team" I smirk, striking a fake pose.
"Well, won't have to try to hard" Xavier chuckles, staring into my eyes with his piercing green orbs.
"Well then, see you at the Weathervane tomorrow!" I turn, walking away back off to my dorm and waving as I made my out of the quad.
How the hell did he already have me wrapped around his finger?
