Romeo and Petra talked things out, mainly because Jesse gave them no other choice. It was bluntly obvious that neither of them liked the other, but as long as they weren't causing problems, she let it go. Lukas and Petra were given their own rooms too. There were plenty to spare with how large the fortress was. The afternoon passed into the evening, as everyone said their goodnights, and went their own ways to catch up on some sleep. On the contrary, Jesse couldn't fall asleep, much like the night before. Since then, she was still a little on edge. It was impossible to forget those shining white eyes he had. It all seemed so real. Even the mere thought of him sent goosebumps over her skin. She shook her head, trying to convince herself that it was all just in her head. Killing Herobrine was an incredibly traumatic event. It made perfect sense for her to experience PTSD. Maybe she was going crazy. But the little voice inside her head told her otherwise.

Romeo threw another book off the table, which landed smack on the floor next to the others. By now, there were dozens scattered all around his workroom. Romeo rubbed his eyes. He had no sense of time anymore. For the past couple of hours, he had been searching for an explanation as to what happened to Jesse. Of course, there wasn't a single useful detail to be found. He rose to his feet, feeling slightly unbalanced doing so. It was such a relief to stretch after being glued to his chair for so long. A little break never hurt anyone. He promised himself he would get back to work soon.

He left his room, realizing it was in fact night. Romeo strolled through the dimly lit halls and entered one of the cellars. The walls were aligned with a large selection of alcohol. His eyes scanned each of them and eventually decided on the strongest whiskey that came to mind. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to be drinking at this time, but did he give a shit? No. No, he didn't.

Romeo walked out of the cellar, bottle in hand, not even bothering to grab a glass. If he ended up drinking the whole thing, so be it. He was in dire need of something to drown out his aching stress. As he tugged off the cork, he took a long sip. The liquid burned against his tongue, yet offered a sense of comfort, making it twice as addicting. He poured another round into his mouth, all while wandering aimlessly down the hallways. What he was doing was without a doubt pathetic, and he acknowledged that completely.

He stopped in his tracks, as something in the corner of his eye caught his attention. The balcony. Further approaching the glass doors, he pushed them open to walk through. He was struck by the flashbacks of when he comforted Jesse in this exact spot. He held his arms over the edge like he had done that very night, keeping a tight grip on his whiskey bottle, to prevent it from slipping. With every sip he took, his mind rid itself of any once-existing worries.

Upon hearing footsteps, he shot his head around in its direction.

"Sorry, sorry."

Romeo's gaze softened as he laid eyes on the black-haired girl. He found himself admiring her features as she stood still in the spotlight of the moon. Her eyes shone in their bright green hue, the moonlight capturing every twinkle they held. He could easily trace every detail, never getting bored for a second. Words could not describe how he saw her. If only he could come up with the right ones.

She took a few steps closer to stand right beside him. "What're you doing?"

"Thinking." He brought the bottle to his lips, downing more of the bitter-sweet drink.

Jesse remained with her eyes locked on his. They flickered onto the bottle he was holding. Her facial muscles stiffened.

"Is everything okay?" She tilted her head inward, now leaning on the rails along with him.
