A day had passed since Jesse and Lukas last spoke. Lukas on one hand didn't leave his room once, whereas Jesse waited anxiously for him to finally come out. But he never did. She wished it never had to come to this. Being ignored by someone she cared so deeply for. But it had to be done. She had to put an end to it. The dishonesty. The lies. Lukas deserved none of it. Only when she defeated Herobrine, could she sort out her feelings. But for now, he was the main concern.
Nothing eventful had happened in those past 24 hours, much to her relief. Although, Romeo still hadn't returned, which brought additional worry to her. The travel was long, as expected. Jesse had made the journey herself, and it took around this amount of time to do it. She tried thinking of a way to take her mind off him. Then, she thought of it. She needed to come up with the long-awaited plan to kill Herobrine once and for all. No more waiting around. If no one else was going to take charge, then she was going to be the one to do it.
She called the others into the meeting room and watched as they all piled in and took a seat. Lukas was the last to enter. Jesse wanted to catch his gaze, but he avoided it pretty well. She took a deep breath and went to stand by the head of the table. Her eyes flickered over every person, as they sat quietly, waiting for her to say something.
She anxiously tapped the side of the table, trying to come up with the right words to start. "Anyone wondering why I called the meeting?"
"I'm guessing you're about to tell us," Petra said.
Jesse straightened her posture. "We need to acknowledge the problem here."
This got some murmurs, from all except Lukas, who kept to himself.
"Herobrine's still out there," she spoke up again. "We can't keep trying to avoid him or wait for him to attack. What we need to do is come up with a plan to stop him for good."
"How do you suggest we do that?" Frankie asked curiously.
She paused for a brief moment. "I'm not sure yet. But that's why I gathered you all here. Any ideas?"
The silence was never so loud. Jesse bit her lip. They were just as clueless as her. It was hard coming up with all the solutions every single time. All she wanted was some help for once. Almost coincidentally, she heard a voice just after thinking this.
"Whatever happened to the dagger?" someone questioned.
She turned her head to the person that spoke. It was Lukas.
"Didn't work. Otherwise, Herobrine would be dead, remember?"
"No. The day when you told us how you killed Herobrine, you said you never used the dagger. Just Alex's powers." he pointed out.
Jesse paused to think back to when it all happened. The memories flooded back to her, and that's when it hit her. Lukas was right. She remembered everything now. She never had to use the dagger because she used Alex's powers to kill Herobrine instead. But thinking back, it clearly wasn't a good idea seeing that Herobrine never actually died. The dagger is the only thing that can kill Herobrine, that was a fact. Even Alex wasn't strong enough to do it. That's why he was still alive. Everything made sense.
"Holy crap, Lukas, you're right," Petra exclaimed. "Why didn't I think of that?"
"So where's the dagger now?" Fin asked.
"It's-" she began, then quickly stopped herself.
Her eyes went blank, and that's when she realized. She left it inside Herobrine's old fortress. The fortress she and her friends tore down not long after he 'died.' There's no telling where it could be after all the passed time. That dagger was long gone by now.
