Jesse's eyes opened to a white room. Her head lifted from the ground, only to realize that there were no doors, no windows, no exits. Was this a dream? She saw no other explanation. Jesse pushed herself to her feet, scanning the room with furrowed brows. She did a full 360, failing to find any end or wall to the room she was in. It almost felt as if she'd been in this room before.
She turned around once more to find herself face-to-face with a mirror. She jumped back, startled by the sudden appearance. Surely, it wasn't there before. She looked upon her reflection, noticing there to be something off about it. One of her eyes glowed a bright blue. Her jaw fell slightly as she stepped closer to the mirror. Either she was experiencing some major deja vu, or this actually had happened before. Many years before for that matter. She extended her hand forward, and it easily slid through the glass. Without a second thought, she stepped through the mirror, entering her entire body inside.
What awaited her on the other side was an identical white room to the last. She stood still, without a clue of where to go from there.
"Jesse!"
The sound of her name caused her to spin around. She was met with a glowing figure a few feet away. It was a beautiful lady, radiating light off her body, a lady whom Jesse never thought she would see again.
"Alex? Is that you?"
The figure nodded and approached her further.
Jesse's jaw fell open, in utter shock. "I thought you died..."
Alex didn't answer, instead placed her hands on Jesse's shoulders, gripping them firmly. Only then could Jesse notice the look of horror that covered Alex's face.
"What- what's wrong?" Jesse asked with slight worry in her tone.
"He isn't who you think he is. Don't be fooled!" Alex shook her lightly, her eyes wide open, almost frightened.
Jesse squinted. "Wait, who isn't? Who are you talking about-"
"You need to kill him. Kill him, Jesse. Before-"
Jesse awoke with a quiet noise. She sat up straight in bed, finding herself in her own bedroom, no longer the white room she had been in mere seconds earlier. She was alone, and dripping with sweat. She looked at the clock in the corner of her room which read 7:42 AM. She took a deep breath before throwing the covers off and getting out of bed.
"What a weird dream..." she mumbled to herself as she changed into her overalls and slung the enchanted sword behind her back.
She was just about to leave when she stopped in front of the mirror. Stepping closer, she got a better look at herself. The eye which she had seen to be blue minutes earlier was now its normal green color. She paused for a moment before leaving her room.
...
Jesse made her way through the fortress, still a little on edge after the dream she had. She just couldn't seem to shake the feeling that Alex was trying to warn her. About what though? More so, who was she trying to warn her about?
She reached the kitchen and peered inside. Only one person was in there.
"You're up early," Lukas spoke in his usual cheery voice.
She forced a smile. "Yeah. You are too."
He laughed a little. "What can I say? I'm a morning person." he turned his back to her, facing the counter. "Want some coffee? Tea?"
"No thanks." She replied, taking a seat on a stool in front of the counter.
Lukas turned around again with a cup in his hand. "You sure?"
