JUNGKOOK POV
Christmas Day dawned bright and clear.
Perfect for shifting and running through the woods and then huddling under the blankets drinking Jimin's eggnog.
But that was for later. Much
later when we were alone in bed.His mom and dad would be arriving this morning.
They'd been planning on coming Christmas Eve.
The night before Christmas was the big celebration based on their family tradition as opposed to the twenty-fifth of December, which was a day to recover from the previous night's festivities.
But the weather had disrupted their plans.
While Jimin was sleeping beside me, he'd gotten up earlier for Snow I allowed my mind to run over our time together.
As I suspected, I'd been juggling my work, my role as Alpha and my new mate's needs.
There'd been a lot of video conferencing, late nights and early mornings working from
bed and plenty of driving.I'd stay one or two nights at hybe Den each time before heading back to the cabin.
For the most part it was working well but if any of my employees got sick, I'd be in town all week.
Come to think of it, juggling wasn't correct.
More like I'd been tap dancing while juggling at the same time but I relished my new routine because Jimin was in my life.
Normally, Christmas Day was
a bedlam.Kids would get excited while
they unwrapped their presents, complain because they didn't come with batteries and then
cry because they'd broken what ever the gift was by bedtime. For adults it could be stressful because the gravy was lumpy, Uncles was being rude to Aunties and Cousins had brought a
guest for dinner without informing anyone beforehand. But as Jimin was a reindeer for whom Christmas used to mean work, the family ordered
Chinese food.A cabin in the woods wasn't
the most likely place to get takeout but there was a Chinese restaurant in the city and they were open today.Jimin's parents would collect it on their way through.
It might be lukewarm by the time it arrived but they said
that was part of the tradition.I was thankful we didn't have to cook a huge meal so it was a win-win.
But with Jimin being partial to muffins, I'd planned on making blueberry ones for breakfast.
Throwing the covers off and putting on a robe and slippers,
I made coffee for myself, I'd
make more for Jimin once the muffins were done because I needed caffeine in my veins
and got to working.Baking while listening to Christmas music was my tradition because while I normally celebrated with the
den, I made my own breakfast
in the apartment at home, before joining those who weren't with their individual families afterward.I bopped around the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and muffins in the oven filling
the cabin. And when Jimin appeared, his tousled hair and blotchy face telling me he was still half asleep, I took him in my
arms and wished him."Merry Christmas."
"And to you babe." he mumbled as he slumped into an armchair.
But as I handed him his favorite mug, he made a face and pushed it away. "Don't hate me."
