JUNGKOOK POV

We introduced byeol to the den in a special ceremony.

The birth of the Alpha's first
child was significant and my fellow bear shifters wanted
to mark the occasion.

byeol behaved perfectly and by that I meant she slept most of the time and when she was awake, she was passed from shifter to shifter and lay in their arms studying their faces.

"Alpha."

Tae bowed his head slightly at me while he held Gia on his hip.

Hobi followed behind with their new baby, Yoongi, in his arms.

"You made a decision regarding the house?" Tae put Gia down and she toddled across the floor.

Jimin nodded. "Yes, we're going to be neighbors."

"We break ground before Christmas."

"And will you be spending Christmas at hybe Den this year?" Hobi asked.

That was quite a leap from discussing our new home to where we'd be on December twenty-fifth, considering it
was still a few months away.

My mate and I hadn't discussed it but we'd discovered he was pregnant on Christmas Day at the cabin.

"I was thinking we'd spend it
at the cabin."

Jimin leaned over my shoulder.

"We created memories there
last year and hope to make
it a tradition."

We hadn't talked about Christmas at the cabin but I
was overjoyed that he wanted
to be in the same place as we were last Christmas.

Besides, he'd adored the place long before I was in his life.

"That's nice." Hobi told us before he excused himself to feed the baby and Tae raced after his daughter as she toddled
toward an exit.

I took Jimin in my arms. "So,
are we ordering Chinese food
on Christmas Day?"

"Absolutely, The day is for fun and family, not slaving away
in the kitchen for hours."

"And will you eat my blueberry muffins or will you be having toast?"

"I expect you to be cooking up
a storm wearing an apron and not much else."

An elderly den member tittered and mumbled, "Alpha." as she wandered toward the buffet.

"Why wait until Christmas?"

"We have a kitchen here in
our apartment."

He leaned close and whispered.

"How soon can we leave?"

"First we have to rescue our daughter."

I twisted him around as byeol's unofficial aunties and uncles fussed over her.

It gladdened my heart that
hybe Den had embraced my mate and daughter.

* * *

"What's in this bag?"

I complained as I lugged it
from the car into the cabin.

While we wanted to recreate last Christmas, the one aspect we didn't want to experience was
a dodgy furnace and my mate had gone overboard with the coats and jackets.

"Presents for our daughter."

Once again, Jimin's parents would bring the Chinese food.

We'd promised one another we wouldn't exchange gifts.

Us being mated and having our daughter, we decided the past year had given us presents we would treasure for a lifetime.

The furnace was behaving but
we woke on Christmas Eve to find the road blocked after a snow storm during the night.

This would be the second year running the family missed celebrating on Christmas Eve, which was their tradition.

Jimin was disappointed, wanting his Mom and Dad to share our daughter's first Christmas.

"I'm sure the road will be passable tomorrow and your parents will be able to get here."

"If not, I'll hire a snow plow."

"And this is a new tradition."

As I predicted, on Christmas morning, the temperature was much warmer than the day before and my in-laws were expected to be here by lunch time.

That gave me ample time to wriggle the ass formerly labeled as scrawny but now with the updated title of gorgeous,
around the kitchen while I baked.

byeol had woken earlier for a feed and while Jimin attended
to her, I gave Snow her meds.

Everyone but me went back to sleep and I cranked up the furnace, got undressed, put on an apron and got to work baking.

With Christmas carols playing in the background, I put a tray of muffins in the oven as Jimin appeared.

"Hello, my love. Coffee."

I turned around and bent over, giving him a good look at my bare ass.

When he finally spoke, his voice was low and husky. "How
much time do we have before
the muffins are done?"

"Twenty minutes."

"Perhaps we can exchange presents in bed."

"I thought we weren't—" His fingers trailed over my butt.

"Oh, that sort of gift."

"Lead the way."

But our daughter, who always had perfect timing, chose
that moment to wake up.

I poured coffee for my mate and let him enjoy the first cup of the day while I changed the baby's diaper and brought her into the kitchen.

Jimin opened his arms wide and took her and Snow jumped on the couch beside the two most important people in my world.

A knock at the door had me jump, almost dropping the muffins as I removed them
from the oven.

My eyes darted to my mate, frozen, with his arms around byeol.

"You're not, are you?"

While we'd talked about having more children, we wanted to
wait until our daughter was older.

"Not that I know of."

"No, I'm not. I'm certain."

"I'll get it, you stay there with byeol."

But as he did last year, he
took no notice and followed me to the door and Snow was curious too, mewing at my feet.

The door still creaked. No one.

"What a shocker."

This was becoming a Christmas tradition too.

But instead of a wrapped present, there was a basket
and lying on a cushion in the middle was a tiny white kitten, who looked identical to Snow, only smaller.

"Oh my Gods!" Jimin yelled.

"Is it?" I pointed upward.

"The jolly man who says, 'Ho, Ho, Ho'?"

"I believe so."

Snow didn't care who or what had brought the kitten.

She licked the newcomer's head and then picked the kitten up
by the scruff of the neck, carrying the little one into the house before depositing them
on Snow's bed.

The older cat meowed and
curled around the kitten.

"Is she saying Merry
Christmas?" I asked as I
hugged Jimin and byeol.

"I believe she is."
