JIMIN POV

I didn't know what I'd thought would happen when I swiped
on the alpha's profile.

Maybe for him to immediately reply? Yeah, probably that.

But he didn't and I found myself scrolling through a sea of people.

A few swiped on me and I started a chat with them but most of them were looking for a booty call and yay, you do you.

But there were apps for that
and this wasn't one of them.

I shut down my phone and went to bed about an hour later.

If I kept it on I'd keep checking
it and really, I needed to get some sleep.

Especially if I was going to finally get to the whole moving the wood pile thing.

Sleep came quickly.

It always did out here.

There were no passing cars or trucks to rumble by, no neighbors fighting or coming home late or getting up early, no dogs barking to be let back in.

It was just the trees and me.

I woke up refreshed.

It was a new day.

I was going to take care of Snow, move the wood and maybe catch a movie or something in the city.

Or that's what I had planned.

It all changed when I booted up my phone as Snow ate her food.

I could go for a nice week at the beach.

Pizza lover had returned my message only five minutes after
I went to sleep.

Great.

He probably thought I was ignoring him.

Some place warm too.

Not like when you ask the genie for a wish and end up on the coast of Main in the middle of sub zero weather.

I'd spent far too many hours as a kid perfecting the perfect wishes for the time I found a genie.

For some reason, I found that a very worthwhile pursuit of my time given the real probability it would happen.

Now I moved onto the adult version of the game, What would I buy if I won the lottery?

I didn't expect an answer back right away, Snow ate at six and six even on the weekends.

I used to tease her that she was lucky I loved her but really it was me who was lucky she loved me.

Early riser? It came back almost immediately.

Every day. I added a smiley emoji. You?

To my surprise, he messaged me his number. I'm off to work but you can text me.

Immediately followed by: Is that too forward?

The app makes that weird
whistle sound and I don't want my coworkers seeing I finally started using the app they have been bugging me about using.

I appreciated his honesty or
what felt like honesty.

Maybe he was just phishing and looking for me to give him my number so he could fleece me dry?

What kind of work?

When he sent back the name of a law firm, my jaw nearly dropped.

It was Saturday and I was expecting something more—Saturday like.
