JIMIN POV

I already knew that Jungkook was gorgeous. Of course I did.

I'd seen his picture.

But seeing him walk up towards the house, he took my breath away.

I didn't even think it was the tux.

Sure, men look fabulous all dressed up but it was more than that.

Maybe it was part of being Alpha of his den, the whole powerful presence thing.

When he told me his position I'd been shocked he wasn't already mated if not by love, by politics.

Bears sounded much more put together than deer, that was for sure.

And then when he walked in...

it was all I could do not to fling myself at him, My reindeer was in full agreement on that one prancing around and so worked up he was mumbling to me.

I couldn't quite hear his words.

Not that I needed to.

He sensed Jungkook as our mate. Talk about rushing things.

We drove along the road and more than once I wanted to
offer to take over for him.

I didn't need to ask in order to know that this was not his normal vehicle.

The poor transmission.

Thankfully we weren't too far from the city, although the city part of the driving was the most challenging for him.

"On a scale of one to ten, how fancy is this thing?" I asked as we got close.

"Like red carpet with pictures kind of fancy or park your car and walk on in kind of fancy?"

Tux fancy was already a given.

"Red carpet?"

"You don't go to many of
these, do you?" I teased.

"I try to avoid them, Isn't that what a Beta is for?"

He engaged his blinker, the
GPS announcing we were up ahead on the right.

"In a herd? Not so much."

"They deal with the money stuff."

Or at least that's how my father explained it.

"I haven't lived in one for a long time, so I could be very wrong."

"My dad only has the fancy clothing because he got into human politics for a while."

"Glad he did."

"Did I mention that tux looks fabulous hugging your ass?"

I wanted to take his hand but frankly he needed it, the gears grinding as we reached the front entrance.

There was no mistake we had arrived.

The hotel in question was like ones I'd seen in countless fancy movies and sure enough, there was a red carpet.

"At least you don't have to
park the car."

"There is always a bright side."

"I'll come let you out."

He wasn't being all alpha, it was the way of this kind of thing.

He helped me out of the car, they asked for his name to see if it was on the list and then led him to the spot where they took our picture.

It amused me that they checked to see if he was on the list.

Like anyone would go through the trouble of getting all gussied up so they could sneak into something like this.
