JUNGKOOK POV
After all my complaining about the damned suit and the number of fittings, I was pretty pleased with the result.
God, I looked good.
I was always Jungkook, the hybe Den Alpha or Jungkook, head of my own law firm.
Never Jungkook the bear shifter going on a date.
I took off the jacket and put it on a hanger not wanting to crinkle it as I had a bit of a trek out of town to where Jimin was staying.
My car was in the shop so I'd borrowed hobi's as he wasn't using it.
It wasn't an automatic but a stick shift and I hadn't driven one of those since I was a teen when
I'd been learning to drive.Jerking the car while I ground the gears from Jimin's cabin to the gala wasn't how I'd planned to introduce myself but based
on the drive around the city this afternoon, it was definitely in my future. And the snow didn't help.
The phone beeped with the reminder I'd set, Time to leave and make my way to his place.
I'd allowed an hour to get there and back, hoping I didn't get lost or the GPS didn't throw its hands up.
And say, "You're on your own."
Not wanting to embarrass myself by grating the gears while
trying to drive out of the hotel underground car park, I'd
parked on the street. But I found the car hemmed in and it took a lot of to-ing and fro-ing to get out.
By the time I was done, I had
an audience and people were shouting instructions and doing the twirly finger thing.I never understood that because my brain didn't process visual commands the same as other people and I never did whatever it was they wanted.
Despite the snow, my cheeks were burning as I sped off down the road, hoping I wouldn't meet any of the onlookers at the gala or in the hotel at breakfast.
By the time I got out of the city, I was on a lonely road, trees bowed low with snow on either side.
My bear was excited because it was the perfect place to take his fur and no one would notice.
Something similar to fear prickled over my skin.
Not because I sensed I was in danger, my bear would have
any human or shifters crapping themselves but I was aware that even though Jimin had sent me his pic, he might not be who I expected. As I rounded each bend, I
leaned over the steering wheel expecting to discover a house blazing with lights but when the road finally ended, there was only a small cabin in the midst of a clearing. He must enjoy driving to make that trip twice a day.
But the door opened as I stepped out, a sliver of light fell on the snow and Jimin's smiling face appeared.
The same one that had appeared on the phone.
He was decked out in a tux that fitted him like a second skin.
Nice! My bear was impressed.
More than nice.
"Jungkook, You came." He outstretched his hand.
"Did you expect me to cancel?"
He shrugged. "Thought the
road might put you off.""Nah, I've driven on worse."
