A Broken Promise & A Childhood Friend

Saturday came faster than I expected it to. My family greeted me with opened arms once I arrived back in New York. My flight was delayed so by the time I did arrive the sun was already set and the moon was out.
I had a few calls from Eden, but I didn't bother answering any of them. I wanted to use this time to enjoy the company of my family and to focus on something other than her.
She consumed me.
Incoming text messages from Eden Steele
Eden: I tried calling you, but assuming there was no answer from you I guess you're busy spending time with your family at the moment. Hopefully you made it there safely.
I sighed as her incoming text message lit up on my phone screen.
"Trouble back home, little brother?" My sister questioned me pulling me out of my thoughts as she helped me clean up the dining table.
My mom had prepared a huge dinner for the both of us in celebration of my sister's marriage and my return.
"No, it's nothing just work." I said as I put my phone back into my pocket and continued to clean off the dining table.
"How is that job anyway?" She questioned me as she looked at me. "Mom said you're bringing home a lot of money working for that company." Haliee said as she looked at me, rubbing her hands along her stomach.
My sister was 6 months pregnant.
"Yeah, it pays my bills, but can we not talk about work I'm here to get away from that." I said as I looked at her.
"Wow, so the rumors are true Hunter Nolan is back in town." A familiar voice said from behind me.
"Look Hunter, it's Addison." My mom said as she made an appearance in the kitchen. I turned around and saw Addison standing in the doorframe of the kitchen.
Wow, she looked amazing. It had been a while since I've seen her last, years even.
"Wow, Addison you look great." I said as I looked at her.
