A Deal with the Devil
❦
I had to admit I was quite terrified; I had never been in a situation like this before. I thought moments like this only happened in movies and right now I was a part of my own movie scene but make it reality.
I couldn't hear anything, but the sound of my heart pounding and my heavy breathing. I had no idea where Eden' father was taking me or what he wanted to do with me in the first place. How did I get myself into this situation? Eden warned me that her family wasn't like any other normal family, but I didn't listen to her.
Instead, I gave her a speech about how not all families are normal or perfect. She tried to warn me, and I didn't listen to her. I was pulled out of my thoughts when the car came to a stop and the trunk was opened.
A tall figure stood in front of me, but I couldn't make out who it was since it was dark. I was pulled out of the trunk by my arms, a bag was placed over my head, and I was carried into a building.
I was carried into a room and place into a chair. The bag was finally pulled off of my head. I looked around the room, there was a guard in every corner.
"What do you want with me?" I questioned the guard that was the closest to me. There was no answer. "I have money if that's what you want." I said as I pleaded with one of them.
He finally gave me a smirk as he looked at me. That was funny to him? This was funny to him, my current situation. I had never felt so vulnerable, but it was because I valued my life.
Xander entered the room, pulling up a chair in front of me, and sitting down in it as he manspread.
"I bet you're confused on why you're here, hmm?" He questioned me as he looked at me, handing me a water bottle. I immediately took the bottle of water from him, opening it, and taking large gulps from it.
"I've been doing some research on you, Hunter Nolan." He said as he looked at me. "And I know you're with my daughter." He said as he intertwined his fingers.
As soon as he said my name, my eyes grew wide, and I removed the water bottle from my lips.
"Money is not something I need as you can see, I have plenty of it." He said as he shook his head. "What I need is your help getting in contact with my daughter." He said as he stood up from the chair, sliding his hand into his pockets.
"Couldn't you just have gone about this the easy way?" I questioned him as I placed the water bottle down on the floor beside me. "I'm pretty sure she would've agreed to meet you at a coffee shop or something if you asked her to." I said as I looked at him.
He let out a deep chuckle as he looked at me.
"It's not that easy Mr. Nelson, you see I'm a man who's wanted in several countries for a lot of things so I can't just show my face in public whenever I want to like you do." He said as he started to pace the room, circling around me. "I also knew your father; he owned me a lot of money." He said as he looked at me.
"What are you talking about?" I questioned him with a confused look on my face. "How did you know my father?" I questioned him again.
"Your father was in a terrible amount of debt, and he came to me seeking for my help." He said as he started to pace the room again. "He never repaid that debt; he took the easy way out instead." He said as he stood in front of me.
I looked at him in disbelief. I couldn't believe a word that was coming out of his mouth.
"It's okay because you're going to repay that debt for him." Xander said as he spoke up again as he looked at me. "You're going to help me rebuild my relationship with Eden all while working for me." He said as he explained.
"You're a big businessman, aren't you? I could use someone like you on my side." He said as he gave me a sly smirk.
I was hesitant to accept his terms at first, but knowing what kind of man he was I probably didn't have much of a choice in this matter.
"I'll do on one condition." I said as I looked at him while taking a pause. "Eden can't know about any of this, I don't want to hurt her and it's her company not mine." I said as I looked at him.
"Sounds like a reasonable agreement to me." He said as he smirked as he fixed his suit jacket. "Now, let's get you to a hospital so you can get that nose of yours fixed." He said as he pointed to my nose.
I was dropped off in front of the hospital by one of Xander's men. This entire experience was an eye opener for me since I had never been in a situation like that before.
I wasn't prepared for what was coming next.
