The Operation
❦
1 month later
Soon had turned into days, days had turned into weeks, and weeks had turned into a month. I didn't have it in me to tell Eden about her father even though it was weighing heavily on my conscience. I felt guilty and the nightmares I were having wasn't helping me at all. I stood in the doorframe as I watched Eden fix the pillows that were laying inside of the baby's nursey.
She gives birth in just 2 days. Over the past month, we had been preparing for this specific day. She had made me sole owner of her company. I never thought I'd be in a position like this in my early 20s. A soon to be father and a company owner. It wasn't just an ordinary company anymore though.
Eden's father was now using it to run drugs throughout the entire city. It was a safe space for him, well, that's what he was calling it. Like I said, I never thought I would be in a position like this.
I was taking risks. Risk of going to jail for the rest of my life, risk of losing the woman I love.
Why couldn't I just tell her when I had the opportunity to?

• rest of the story will be from Eden's point of view.
"What are you thinking about?" I said as I looked at him. I approached him as I studied the look on his face.
"I'm thinking about how we're both about to be parents." He said as he looked at me almost immediately.
"Mhm.." I said as I looked at him suspiciously. "You know, I can tell when you lie to me, right?" I questioned him as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
