Christmas Eve
❦
It was finally Christmas Eve, and the ground was completely covered in snow. Hunter was helping me get in the Christmas spirit by helping me put up a Christmas true in my living room.
I never celebrated Christmas; I would just bury my head in my work to distract me from getting into the holiday spirit. Christmas was always depressing for me because I never had a proper family to celebrate it with.
I stood back as I watched him top the tree with a star with a cup of hot chocolate in my hand.
"Doesn't it look nice?" He questioned me as he stood back admiring his work and then looking over at me. "You can't tell me it doesn't look nice." He said as a slight smile appeared across his face.
"It does look nice." I admitted as I blew the steam off of my hot chocolate. "It looks beautiful." I said as I looked at him, finally taking a sip.
"Let me have some of that." He said as he walked over to me, putting his hands on my waist.
"Be careful, it's hot." I said as I put the cup up to his lips. "Blow it." I said as I watched him.
He blew the steam from the cup, and I carefully lifted it up, him taking a sip from it as I did so.
After he finished drinking it, I removed the cup from his lips.
"Is it good?" I questioned him as I looked at him with furrowed brows.
"Of course, it's good, you made it remember." He said as he placed a small kiss on my lips.
I let out a small laugh as I nodded my head in approval.
I watched as he walked over to the couch and took a seat. I walked over to it as well and took my place next to him.
"I'm visiting my family for Christmas tomorrow night as you know already, and my mom wants to meet you." Hunter said as he looked over at me.
"I want to meet your mother as well, but I'm nervous." I confessed as I looked him, resting the cup of hot chocolate in my lap to cool down some more.
"You don't have to be nervous, baby." He said as he looked at me out of confusion.
"What if they don't like me, hm?" I questioned him as I raised one of my brows.
"Why wouldn't they like you?" He questioned me back out of curiosity. "My family isn't like most people, they're not judgmental." He said simply as he looked at me.
