5. Twist in Confusion

Aegon thought it was best to stall Rocket until he knew that Cassie was in love with him. But Cassie wanted to check on the damages.

Alicent huffed a breath at them as they passed.

"Your mother seems lovely." Cassie mused.

"Her distaste isnt for you." Aegon informed her.

"You are her firstborn." Cassie remarked. "She loves you."

"No she doesnt." Aegon corrected. Cassie grabbed his hand leaning into him as they walked. "I used to try so damn hard to be a good son, I won the tourneys, I bested the competition and no matter what I did my mother didnt care, didnt look twice at me. She only spoke to me when she was yelling at me or hitting me." Aegon mumbled. "Sorry I don't know why I said all that." Aegon remarked swallowing the lump in his throat.

"I don't remember my mother much." Cassie admitted. "Peter is older than me. Our father... he left when mom got pregnant. came back a few years later, she fell for his charms, had me then she died." Cassie whispered.

"My father doesnt like me. I don't think he likes any of us." Aegon remarked as he led Cassie to the dragon pits. "He is dying too."

"Cancer took my mom." Cassie remarked.

"What's that?" Aegon countered and Cassie choked out a laugh.

"You know I could probably heal your father." Cassie remarked. "Whatever technology your doctors have, I'm sure I have something stronger on the ship."

"Doctors?" Aegon questioned confused.

"I'm going to keep saying words that are completely average and watch your face twist in confusion." Cassie declared before kissing him a smile still on her face as she pulled back.

"What happened to your dad?" Aegon questioned.

"I killed him." Cassie answered nonchalantly. Aegon stared at her as they walked, waiting for her to say she was joking. She didn't.

"Wow, that's a lot." Aegon remarked softly.

"Yeah it was an emotional day for Pete and I." Cassie agreed.

"I don't think the maesters would let you in, I don't think my mother would let you near my father. She would probably think you are poisoning him." Aegon informed her as he called out to Sunfyre.

"Maester?"

"Healers." Aegon remarked. Cassie nodded slowly. "Now I'm going to say words that are completely average to me and watch your face twist in confusion." Aegon countered, she bumped her hip into him.

Aegon was too easy to fall for Cassie decided. He held out a hand for her helping her up onto Sunfyre.

"Oh my God!" Cassie squealed as Aegon climbed up behind her. "Nebula would be so jealous right now."

"Hold on tight." Aegon whispered kissing her neck. "Sōvegon!' Aegon declared and Sunfyre took off. Cassie squealed out excitedly as they flew through the sky. She lifted her arms up touching the clouds. Aegon held on tighter to her. Cassie's head tipped back into him and he saw the smile on her face as she laughed out.

"This is so much cooler than a ship!" Cassie declared.

"What happens when your ship is fixed?" Aegon whispered kissing her neck.

"We go home I guess." Cassie remarked softly.

"Could I come with?" Aegon pondered.

"Steal a prince from the year 100 and something, bring him to the future... yeah that sounds like a time keeper and sorcerer wouldnt come and try to whip my ass." Cassie mused.

"Sorcerer?"

"Wizard." Cassie clarified.

"You have witches and sorcery too?"

"Honey," Cassie brought a hand back to touch his cheek as they flew. "I came in on a space ship and live outside the galaxy in a place called knowhere. Yeah, wizards are possibly the least cool thing about where I come from but we won't tell Strange that." Cassie remarked.

"But it's possible, I could..." Aegon pushed hopefully as they landed.

"I am groot."

"You know your dragon won't be able to come with and he is awesome." Cassie declared petting Sunfyre's leg.

"Sunfyre or You?" Aegon weighed an invisible scale on his hands. "There is no question, I pick you." Aegon had never been more confident in anything before.

"Thanks for the lift." Cassie declared but Aegon grabbed her hand kissing her fiercely and she leaned into him.

"It wasnt just a drop off, I'm coming in." Aegon remarked happily.

"Then let me show you around." Cassie agreed.
