17. Stephen Strange Calling

"I want to show him earth." Cassie declared "Missouri, where we were born. I want him to try chicago pizza and see the walk of fame, new york, we need to go to new york and see a Broadway show!" Cassie declared and Aegon nodded, not understanding half of what she was saying but liking how excited she was to show him. "I want to show him everything."

"The ship-"

"We have other ships." Cassie corrected.

''Stephen strange is calling you again. Don't leave your stupid phone in my vicinity again.'' Nebula hissed forcing the phone at cassie.

"Thank you!"

"Cassandra Quill."

"Oh fuck you answered it!" Cassie spat back at her and promptly gave nebula her middle finger which nebula returned.

"Cassandra. Quill!" Stephen demanded.

''Oh stevie hey bud. I didn't see you there. You and I-''

''Cassandra please tell me you didn't time travel!" Stephen shouted into the phone.

"- are breaking up- I cant-" cassie tried to make it sound like static as she gurgled and cracked her voice.

"I know you can hear me." Stephen corrected.

"Bad- connection- call- lat... er.." cassie offered hopefully.

"You time traveled and now you have a variant with you don't you!" Stephen shouted

"Why does he have my number again?" Cassie muttered. "Honestly stevie" fake static noises "I don't know- what- you-"

''Stop making funny noises man in box cant hear you.'' Drax instructed.

''Fuck you too drax.'' Cassie hissed

''I can. I might break Quill. Girl Quill.'' Drax clarified staring down at her. "But yes. Do fuck me."

"Gah stop it!" Cassie demanded

"Cassandra quill!" Stephen demanded

''I didn't do it on purpose he was a stowaway and we didn't time travel on purpose either!'' Cassie offered. 

"Return him." 

"NEVER!" Cassie corrected. "He is mine now."

"He is not a puppy." Stephen reminded her. 

"How do you know?" Cassie corrected as she glanced at Aegon. He was like a puppy, a sexy puppy. Learning about the world and bathrooms were fascinating after using chambers pots so in a sense, he was a puppy.

"Cassandra, where are you?" Stephen demanded. 

"NO!" Cassie shouted. "Do you know his timeline? Do you know if anything was affected?"

"He is a variant!" Stephen corrected. "You want the TVA up your ass too?" Cassie groaned tipping her head back.

"Can't we work something out?" Cassie countered. 

"Cassandra." Stephen kept talking but she looked to Aegon and she couldnt bring him back. Couldnt. Wouldnt. She would not send him back to a place that had broken his soul, his spirit. She could see he was falling apart, forcing smiles. One can only be tied together with a smile for so long before he unraveled completely. 

"I want to show him... can you give me some time?" Cassie countered. Stephen remarked silent. "You believe in true love? Love at first sight?" Cassie whispered. Still Stephen didnt answer. "Well I didnt. But meeting him... just let me show him the world first." Cassie whispered and Stephen sighed. "I want to show him my home... I havent been back since- you know when you were blipped away and I helped save the fucking universe. I didnt ask for a thing. What if-"

"He can't stay forever Cassandra." Stephen corrected.

"Just a bit more time." Cassie offered and Stephen heard her voice breaking. 

"Alright..." He agreed and a sigh of relief filled her. "Then get him to earth and I will handle the rest." Stephen finished.

"Thank you Stephen."

"Answer my calls next time." Stephen countered hanging up. She turned around to see her crew staring back at her. 

"Everything is fine." Cassie offered forcing a smile. But knew his sister better than that. "Kraglin was trying to make ice cream." Cassie recalled. "If it works you are going to love it, Aegon." Cassie reached for his hand pulling him with her. 

"What did the wizard say?" Aegon questioned turning her around to face him. 

"You have to go back eventually." Cassie mumbled. "He's giving us some time but honestly I dont know if you will remember any of this when you go back or if it will all feel like a dream... maybe you wont remember me at all." 

"Not possible." Aegon corrected. 

"You dont know the tech the TVA has." Cassie countered as he hugged her. 

"They could wipe my mind with their weird alien gizmos, fry my brain and I can say with complete confidence that I would never be able to forget you Cassie Quill." Aegon declared and she knew it wasnt true but she believed him, because she wanted to believe that when he was sent home he wouldnt forget about her completely. 

"Thats so sweet Aaron." Cassie teased and Aegon shook his head laughing before he kissed her again. "I hope you remember me. But I really hope I can change Stranges mind."

"Stranges?" Aegon countered confused once again. 

"Stephen Strange. It's his last name. He was a doctor, Doctor Strange... maybe he still is I dont know. But it doesnt matter. I'm going to convince him that this universe, my universe needs you too."
