Road trips sucked. It wasn't the driving that was bad, I loved the feeling of spending hours on the road. It was that some people probably shouldn't be doing it and used the time to do all kinds of illegal shit, about the only one I did was speed. Being on my phone was a no, and I was an excellent one handed driver.

Arilynn was asleep in the passenger seat of the Bentley since I chose to leave early in the morning so I could get to Greenwich and have a day to just enjoy the simplicity of the trip. I could also help Arilynn be prepared for meeting with so many people to essentially become a brand ambassador for them.

I also had about a hundred Email to deal with once we got to my house in Greenwich. Taking after my dad I had the entire property terraformed to what I wanted, along with had the whole house rebuilt. To be in a modern ranch style and what turned out was actually quite an elegant home that gave me a lakeside farm house feel. When my dad saw it he told me it kinda reminded him of the Montana cabin him and his parents went to with his sister when he was a kid so I felt more pleased that I had it built.

By ten PM I'd arrived to the gate of my house that sat on a secluded lake side lot though I was sharing the bay with about a dozen other homes that were on the ocean front portion of Greenwich.

Pulling down the driveway I stopped at the garage and got out of the car, leaving it running so that Arilynn remained sleeping and warm while I took our stuff into the house.

The entire house was meant to be as luxurious as one could be while maintaining an open cabin like appearance. Everything was covered in smooth polished wood and branded with marble and steel making it actually seem quite comforting.

Getting to the upstairs room that Arilynn would be staying in I set her stuff in the small closet and walked out before going to get her out of the car.

Reaching the bottom step I walked over to the car and opened the passenger door before gently moving Arilynn forwards.

Fuck how am I going to do this?

Stopping one arm supporting her back and one under her legs I mentally deciphered how to get her head to rest without dropping.

"Well I guess the more I fuck about the more I'll find out" I mutter and lift her out of the low sitting car before using my foot to close the door and walked inside to her room to set her down on the top of the neatly made sheets.

I then stuck my head out the front door and pointed the fob at my head to get the car to lock so that I could go back inside out of the cool wind.

Crossing the floor of the house that I hadn't actually been to since it's recent construction I made the effort of burning a candle so that the house smelt nice and not like wood, and metal shavings, not that it did, just I wanted to be sure the whole house smelled appealing.

As I made coffee I then think about what I have to do before quickly pulling out a notepad, and writing  out what the plan was for the day so that all my emails and work could be done, along with my work meeting could be prepared for tomorrow.

I'd figured out that this was my life, that building one business was hard and took a lot of effort to even get it off the ground then maintain it especially when there was no clear place that was used as company headquarters.

I ran a company worth just over eight billion dollars and still I was across the country from where Nexus HQ was.

Filling a mug I walked into the living room and set up both my laptop and found a place to put my coffee before starting on the hundreds of emails that had filled my inbox.

How my dad rebuilt Winters Group in a year I don't know?

Yes, he had a pre-built company, but he took it down to nothing, and redid buildings, infrastructure, management, equipment, and industry.
