Kit stretched as she rolled out of her top bunk, her arms and back cracking as she woke for the day. The zoologist gripped the ladder and climbed out quickly, giving her bedhead a scratch with a confused look on her face as she only saw Norm. It was unusual that everyone was up before her. "Have you seen Jake?" Kit asked as she grabbed a cup for some water.

Once they'd transferred back into their bodies, Grace had pulled her away to help work on some bacterium that she'd extracted from a plant before she could properly speak to the Marine and when she'd returned he'd been fast asleep on his bed. He hadn't even been under the covers of anything so Kit had taken it upon herself to tuck him in and hoped to speak to him in the morning.

It seemed like a fine plan because he was always usually the last awake, one would've thought his army training made him used to early mornings, but no, he slept like a log. And today he wasn't in bed at all, strange because even when he was asleep it took a lot of coaxing to get him out of bed. And of course, the one day she wanted to get him out of bed, he wasn't there. Go figures, she thought to herself.

"What no 'hi Norm, how did you sleep?'" He responded slightly snappy, though better than usual. It seemed that being away from main headquarters was helping a little because she'd seen a change in his behaviour over the past few weeks, he was slowly growing warmer to the idea of Jake being one of the people instead of him. Kit had even caught him trying to help Jake speak Na'vi yet had left as soon as she and Grace entered the room.

The zoologist ignored his tone and smiled sweetly, "hi Norm, how did you sleep?"

He rolled his eyes but didn't make another snappy comment, Kit was glad as she didn't know how much pettiness she could handle for one day. "Jake's been linked in for almost an hour now."

"Really?" Her brows raised in surprise.

Norm held his arms up, briefly facing her, "I'm as surprised as you. Who knew he'd get his act together any time soon." She'd hoped too soon as his unhappy tone returned.

Kit scoffed walking towards the link room. "Enough, you wanna talk shit about him do it somewhere else 'cause I don't wanna hear it."

The male scientist couldn't believe she was back on his side. "So what, are you and Jake like, doing the intergalactic tango again?"

The zoologist stopped and turned around mortified, "the intergalactic what?" But she knew what he was talking about, anyone with a brain would. "First of all, gross. Second of all, we're not doing any tango or any kind. In fact, take dancing out of your head or anything remotely similar because Jake and I, we don't do that." She shivered in fake disgust – probably laying it on a little thick.
