White paint dripped down his finger, trailing down along the side until it dripped into his palm. Jake dipped both hands and all four fingers on each into the paint and lifted his hands slowly, trailing them down from Kit's collar bones down her chest and then jumping over her covering to her smooth, taut stomach.

Her breath hitched and she couldn't tear her eyes away from his face.

His brows were furrowed slightly, paying the utmost attention to every inch that he covered. Feeling the soft skin beneath his finger tips and watching her breathing. Covering her with intricate trails of white that readied them for the ceremony.

Neytiri had told them what needed to be done before whilst Tay'kat had been nowhere to be found. She had left them to cover each other after doing a few examples on large leaves, of simple swirls that were meant to cover the body.

When the Marine had told the Colonel about the ceremony, painting Kit wasn't the first thing he had had in mind. But damn if he wasn't a lucky son of a bitch as he kneeled with her. She smiled at him, her eyes occasionally fluttering shut as his fingers trailed up her ribs and down her arms. Swirling around her shoulder blades and down her flat nose and onto her cheeks. She kissed his fingers when they trailed down over her lips to her chin.

Jake had returned from Hell's Gate slightly different, something had shaken him. Kit had asked but he assured her everything was fine and she trusted him, she didn't have a reason not to. The only thing the zoologist knew was that in the beginning, the army guys had tried to take Jake under their wing and he'd been convinced for a short time. That was at least until Grace relocated them up to the hallelujah mountains.

She had no clue that there had been remaining contact, and certainly not that he'd been reporting back to Colonel dickhead. Kit didn't like the man.

In her short stay in Hell's Gate, and in the small periods where she'd spoken to her, he gave her the creeps. Not only was he overly forward with any woman he met, he had a son – a new born baby that he never saw, at least to her knowledge. Quaritch also seemed so set in his ways, that the Avatar programme was a joke and the science 'freaks' were wasting their time.

Yeah, safe to say Kit didn't like the man at all. And that said something, considering she was usually kind and tried not to be hateful to anyone she met.

"I think I'm done," Jake announced lowly, his voice breaking her from her thoughts. Thank Eywa, she didn't want that man to be in her mind anymore than he had to be. She wasn't a violent woman, but something about him made her want to shoot him.
