"Against the grain, kid." Negan told Carl who sat in a chair inside of the bathroom, watching Negan shave. Johnathan stood in the doorway, holding Judith on his hip. "Always against the grain."

They then moved to the kitchen where Negan stood at the stove, cooking spaghetti. "Damn, that smells good. Now, John, I know you like my homemade spaghetti, but I don't exactly have the ingredients so this will have to do."

Johnathan noticed Denise and Tara standing on the porch. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get Beth so she can eat dinner with us." Johnathan stepped on the porch, startling both of the women. "Just give me the lemonade and go. I'll make it."

"I told Rick I would watch Judith." Olivia argued.

"I'm in there, I'm watching her. Please just go, I don't know what he'll do if you make the lemonade wrong." Johnathan told them.

"What about you?" Tara questioned.

"He won't hurt me..." Johnathan told them, snatching the lemonade before walking inside. "...I hope." Johnathan mumbled to himself.

"Where's Beth?" Negan questioned, looking around for the blonde girl.

"She's not feeling well, but I found some lemonade in my pantry." Johnathan lied, grabbing a pitcher to make the lemonade. He picked Judith back up, rocking her on his hip so she would go to sleep.

Johnathan made lemonade while Carl set the table and then Johnathan brought it over to the table, rolling his eyes as Negan made Johnathan pour him a glass. Johnathan sat down at his spot and held a sleeping Judith.

Negan looked at Carl. "I'm not waiting for your dad anymore. I don't know where the hell he is, but Lucille...is hungry." He sat the bat in the chair beside Johnathan. He then tucked a towel into his shirt. "Carl, pass the rolls..." Nobody moved. "...please." It took Carl another moment before he reached forward and passed the basket of rolls to Negan.
