Johnathan sat at Glenn's grave for the first time since Glenn had died. Johnathan placed his hand on the dirt. "Beth's doing good." Johnathan informed staring at the dirt that had his best friend under it. "Our baby is a boy. We're thinking of naming him Matthew, after my mom's dad, and maybe your name as his middle name." Johnathan's eyes teared up. "I miss you so much, and I'm so sorry this happened to you."

Johnathan quickly wiped the stray tears from his face, walking away from Glenn's grave. He began helping members of hilltop and alexandria place aluminum and spikes onto cars.

"When I first met him," Rick spoke to the group of people. "Jesus said that my world was gonna get a whole lot bigger. Well, we found that world. We found each other."

"That's right." Johnathan commented, slinging his arm over Beth's shoulder.

"That...'bigger world' is ours by right." Rick continued, smiling at Johnathan. "That we've come together for it, all of us...it's that much more true--it's ours by right. Any person who would live in peace and fairness, who would find common ground...it's their right, too. But those who use and take and kill to carve out the world and make it theirs alone--we end them. We don't...celebrate it. We don't have shame about it, either. There's only one person who has to die...and I will kill him myself. I will." Johnathan tensed slightly, despite all Negan had done, he couldn't bring himself to want the man dead. After all he used to feed Johnathan, made sure he had clothes and shoes when he needed them, taught him how to drive, helped him with his homework, even let him crash in his guest room from time to time. "I will." Rick repeated.

"Are you okay?" Beth asked Johnathan softly.

"Yeah." Johnathan nodded.

"But if it's the others...the others who prop him up, stand by his side, even those who just look the other way--so be it." Rick finished.

"Together!" Ezekiel exclaimed. "Bound forever! To quote The Bard, 'For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother'. For she today...my sister." He placed a hand on Maggie's shoulder. Shiva roared causing Johnathan to let out a quiet, breathy laugh.
