"Are you going to marry someone soon?"
"..." "Y-You don't have to answer if you don't want to, I just- I...heard about the news and thought maybe you needed someone to talk to." Beomgyu's expression was something Yeonjun had never seen before.
During Beomgyu's birthday party, the one time he was able to visit Beomgyu, and now, before he had asked the question that made Beomgyu look so glum. He looked as if a barrel of tears would start coming out in heaps if he wasn't careful. "...yeah, I am getting..married. I don't want to though, but I guess not everything is going to go the way I want it too."
It's not that Yeonjun didn't want to say anything back to Beomgyu, he just didn't know what to say. Yeonjun was never a good comforter, especially in front of people he liked more then friends. The funny part? Beomgyu is the first person Yeonjun has ever liked more then just a friend.
He tried to put on a sympathetic smile, but it looked more like he was laughing at Beomgyu. By then, Beomgyu had had enough, letting the tears flow in front of his face, as Yeonjun watched from below.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry, Beomgyu, I-" Even though tears were streaming down his face, Beomgyu started to laugh. "I always liked you, Taehyun. You're nice, and always understand me. I'm sorry that you have to see me like this...I'm a guy, I shouldn't be crying."
"...Guys can cry too, we're all human. Don't apologize, it's not your fault you're getting married." Beomgyu smiled, wiping the last little specks of tears from his face. "I'll find a way to help you out of it, I pro-"
"Don't make a promise that you can't keep. I appreciate your help, Taehyun, I really do...but I don't think there is anything you, or me, can do about this." Yeonjun looked down. Beomgyu was right, but he wouldn't settle for something so low.
"I'll help you, Beomgyu. I'll get you out of this! Just trust me." "I've always trusted you, Taehyun." That made Yeonjun smile, unable to suppress the feeling of joy.
"I'll come back tomorrow, just wait for me." Beomgyu nodded, a slight smile forming on his face.
With a little wave, Yeonjun started the journey back home. In all honesty, Yeonjun had all the time in the world right now to talk to Beomgyu. But he knew Beomgyu wasn't like him, and it was risky talking to him so late at night in the first place.
As Yeonjun walked home, he thought about the promise he gave to Beomgyu. When he did it, it didn't seem like that much of a big deal. But now, as he walked home, he realized himself that what he said was completely on impulse.
He wanted to help Beomgyu, so he gave him hope. But that hope would be diminished in a few seconds. Yeonjun knew there was little to nothing he could do about it. But he still wanted to try, for the sake of his first love, Beomgyu.
That night, as both Yeonjun and Beomgyu lay in bed, not a single piece of sleep in mind. Beomgyu remembered something. That first night that he met Taehyun...his best friend accidentally said the name, "Choi Yeonjun".
Beomgyu wasn't that into the crimes, and burglaries happening around him, but Choi Yeonjun was so famous, that Beomgyu knew him even if he didn't want to. But, wasn't it weird? Weird that Beomgyu was taught to memorize all the names of the people attending his party.
But he only remembered memorizing ONE Kang Taehyun, who did show up. Beomgyu knew him from way back, so when he saw his name on the list, he brushed it off. But now, his best friend, was also named Kang Taehyun? Even though Beomgyu remembered memorizing the name Kang Taehyun once.
Was it just an accident that Taehyun accidentally introduced himself as Choi Yeonjun? But then, that would mean that Taehyun was faking his name anyways. Why would he fake his name, if he wasn't THE Choi Yeonjun.
Beomgyu's heart stopped.
