What did it mean to be soulmates? Were people like Beomgyu and Yeonjun considered to be soulmates? Were their red threads connected to each other from the beginning?

It's said once you're born, you are given an invisible red thread that connects you to the person you're destined to meet. Does that also count for someone like Beomgyu? A prince, having to go through an arranged marriage, and not having any freedom to date who he wants.

Beomgyu had believed in the red thread myth, but as he started growing up, it seemed like it was all a lie to him. Someone like Beomgyu was not meant to live a normal life, with their own lover, and living how they wanted to.

Sometimes Beomgyu wished his red thread of fate was still wrapped on his finger, pulling him closer towards the person he was meant to be with. Beomgyu wanted to find the person that would make him happy, and even though he felt that way with Yeonjun, their relationship wasn't that easy to support.

Beomgyu didn't even know if Yeonjun felt the same way as him. There was a big chance Yeonjun had just hung out with Beomgyu for information, and out of boredom. Not because he missed Beomgyu, or liked him in that way.

"I'm going crazy." Putting his hands in his hair, Beomgyu started pulling at the strands of his hair. It could've hurt more, but Beomgyu had no patience to accept the pain he was feeling. He was going through so much, and everyday it seemed like learned even more information that just made things more complicated for him.

"Beomgyu!" All of a sudden, Beomgyu heard someone calling his name. It seemed like they were very far away, but just as close. Beomgyu opened his room door, only to find no one waiting outside. He decided to check his bathroom, but before he could open the door, he heard the person say his name again...from the window!

Beomgyu immediately opened the window, looking down and seeing someone he was happy to see. "Yeonjun! What are you doing here, you didn't say you were coming?" Yeonjun pouted his lips, crossing his arms. "Why? Can I not meet you whenever I want?"

"That's not what I meant, you know. Whatever! How'd you even get through all the guards?" Beomgyu leaned his arms onto the window, putting his head on his hands. "I'm not a criminal for nothing." Yeonjun flashed a wink to Beomgyu, while the latter just rolled his eyes. Sometimes, Yeonjun was just too cocky.

"I came to talk to you, like we used to do." Beomgyu shyly looked up at the sky, trying to hide his smile. "Do you have anything that I can climb up-" "Why don't I just go down instead?" Yeonjun didn't look pleased with the idea. He didn't want Beomgyu to get hurt, or caught.

"Trust me, I've snuck out before. Give me a second!" Hearing the rustling sounds from inside, Beomgyu finally came back, with the worn out rope made of bedsheet that both Yeonjun and Beomgyu had used before.

"Are you sure you're okay with coming down, Beomgyu? I can come up if you're not okay!" "Be quiet, Yeonjun! I'm not a baby, I can do it!" Throwing the makeshift rope down, Beomgyu rubbed his hands together and took a deep breath.

He slowly put one leg out, and than one hand, and just as soon as he had started, he was climbing his way down to the ground. As it was nighttime, Beomgyu's vision wasn't completely  clear. He was trying his hardest to stay on the rope, and climb down without accidentally missing a piece of rope.

Almost to the ground, he thought he had it, but he hesitated while climbing down, and all of sudden he was falling down the rest of the way. No time to scream for help, to try to grab onto something, his only option was to close his eyes and bare the impact.

But the impact never came? "Beomgyu, are you okay!" Instead of the hard ground, he was met with someone's chest. "Yeonjun?" It turned out, when Yeonjun saw Beomgyu falling down, he immediately went to catch him. Luckily, Beomgyu landed right into Yeonjun's arms.

"Beomgyu, I told you I would go up! Why can't you just stop being stubborn for once!" Yeonjun looked really mad, and the only thing Beomgyu could do was look down, still being held by Yeonjun. "I'm sorry, Yeonjun. I thought I could do it-"

"What would I have done if I hadn't caught you, huh? You're the person that is constantly stuck in my mind, all day." Yeonjun paused for a second, before finally speaking again. "-I like you, Beomgyu. I've always been fond of you, and I can't hold it in anymore!" Yeonjun looked like a million pounds of weight, had lifted off his shoulder in seconds.

Shocked from the sudden confession, all Beomgyu could do was stay in Yeonjun's arms and look away. "I didn't know you felt that way about me, Yeonjun." Yeonjun was the one looking away now, as Beomgyu made eye-contact with him.

"I'm sorry, just forget what I said-" "I feel the same way." Proceeding to wrap his arms around Yeonjun's neck, Beomgyu felt Yeonjun's grip on his waist tighten. The sky was so pretty, all the stars gleaming from afar.

But no matter how beautiful the stars were, to Beomgyu and Yeonjun, each other were the best. It had happened so fast, both boys just staring into each other's eyes. To them, time had completely stopped, and all that was left on this world were each other.

Yeonjun slowly leaned in closer, almost closing the gap between him and Beomgyu. Noses touching, the two boys slowly leaned in and closed the gap. The kiss was something new for Beomgyu, never learning about how to kiss, and certainly not ever getting to kiss anyone.

It seemed like Yeonjun knew that, as he gently kissed Beomgyu. Not a single bit rough, or impatient, Yeonjun kissed Beomgyu with love. Once the kiss ended, the two boys rested their foreheads together.

Both smiling like they had won the lottery, Yeonjun spun Beomgyu around in circles. After putting him down, he proceeded to kiss Beomgyu all over his cheeks, forehead, chin, jawline, and even collarbone.

Beomgyu just laughed as a response, but he definitely was enjoying it himself.

"I love you, Beomgyu."

"I love you too, Yeonjun."
