5. Friends?

"Pleasure to meet you, if you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" 

All of sudden, Beomgyu's attention was all on Yeonjun.

What was Yeonjun supposed to say? The guy he had admired when he first walked in, who was also the next King to the throne, was asking for his name. Was it rude not to answer? Did he have to bow or shake his hand?

Yeonjun had no idea what to say back, but he didn't want to keep the prince waiting, so he answered with the first thing that came into his mind. "Yeonjun, Choi Yeonjun." "I'm sorry, but what was your name again? I think i'm hearing things."

Yeonjun was confused, did Beomgyu think his name was weird? Than, he realized, he had said his real name without thinking. "I-I mean, my name is Taehyun, Kang Taehyun." "Ah, so I was hearing things. Your name awfully sounded like a very bad criminal, i'm glad it's not actually that." "Uh- yeah, me too."

Yeonjun was very much offended, but Beomgyu wasn't wrong at all, so he could only agree. "Let's talk more casually, yeah? I want to get to know you more." This Beomgyu guy was more straight-up than Yeonjun had expected. He didn't mind though, since he also wanted to get to know Beomgyu more.

Yeonjun wondered what Beomgyu would think if he ever found out his true identity.

Yeonjun and Beomgyu talked for a while, completely forgetting about everyone else in the room, having fun together. They grew to have a friendly bond with each other, and Beomgyu felt good knowing he finally had someone who was like a friend to him. "Hey, do you mind if we hang out again soon enough? I want to hang out with you more!" 

"I wouldn't mind that, but how will you hang out with me? Won't your dad forbid you?" "I'll find a way, don't worry! I've never asked this to anyone before but...would you like to be my friend?" Yeonjun smiled, Beomgyu was so innocent and pure. It was like he had no idea about the ugly world outside, and Yeonjun wanted to keep him like this forever. 

Yeonjun had always had a rough life, and he saw his happiness in Beomgyu. It was like Beomgyu was the last piece to his puzzle, and maybe Yeonjun did sound crazy. He was thinking all these things about Beomgyu, who he had just met a few hours prior. No matter how much he wanted to stop though, he just couldn't.

"Of course Beomgyu, let's be friends."
