Beomgyu awoke to no one sleeping beside him. He slowly sat up, and rubbed his eyes, trying to keep them from closing again. The orange sunshine coming from the window, was so bright that even the blinds couldn't hide it's bright light.
"Beomgyu? Oh, you're awake." Yeonjun came in to the bedroom, holding a towel and some clothes. "When you get up, go take a shower. I'll make breakfast for you." Beomgyu smiled, getting out of bed and gratefully taking the towel and clothes.
"Whose clothes are these?" "They're mine, it's okay if they're too big. I thought you might want to take a shower and change since it's been a while since you got here." Beomgyu nodded, having nothing else to say.
He was about to leave, when he turned back to Yeonjun. "Where's the restroom?" Yeonjun laughed, "Ah, yeah. I'll show you." Yeonjun's restroom was completely different then the type of restroom he had back at the castle. It was WAY smaller, and had less storage space. The tiles on the floor looked a bit dirty, like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. Even the shower wasn't very spacious, and not the most comfortable either.
When Beomgyu finally turned the water on though, all his worries faded away. The warm water dripping into his eyes calmed Beomgyu down. He opened his eyes to find the shampoo bottle, and put some onto his hand. The shampoo smelled just like Yeonjun, which made sense since it was his shampoo.
Before he knew himself, Beomgyu had lost track of the time. He quickly got out of the shower and wore the clothes Yeonjun had given him. It was just some plaid pajama pants, and a t-shirt with some writing on the back. For Beomgyu though, it was the most comfiest thing he had worn in a while. Beomgyu made a mental note in his head to ask Yeonjun if he could keep the pants.
Not wasting a second longer in there, Beomgyu opened the door to find that the house smelled like breakfast. He quickly went to where he smelled the food, which was in the kitchen, and found Yeonjun cooking eggs with an apron on. Yeonjun didn't notice that Beomgyu had come, so he was minding his own business, not turning around.
Beomgyu took it as his chance! He slowly tip-toed closer, and when he was close enough, he quickly wrapped his arms around Yeonjun's waist and hid his face in Yeonjun's back. Yeonjun was surprised, but he didn't hate it. "I didn't know you could cook too, Yeonjun!" "I just know a little here, and there."
"Since your here now, tell me if this egg is seasoned right." Yeonjun picked up an egg using spare chopsticks that were laying around, and blew on the food. He turned around, put one hand under the egg, and fed Beomgyu it. "How is it?"
Beomgyu's eyes went wide and he showed a very exaggerated thumbs-up. "So good! The best eggs I've ever had!" "Ayeee, you know that's not true..." "True, yes!"
And so, Yeonjun started plating all the food together. Of course, with Beomgyu still behind him. He hadn't made just eggs though, he had also made avocado toast, and had cut some fruits. He made sure to plate the food very well, even though he knew Beomgyu would be the only one seeing it. He just wanted to make it look good, without really knowing the reason why. When you're a really feared criminal, you don't really have time to cook full meals.
"You can let go of me now, Beomgyu. It's time to eat." With a slight hmph of disappointment, Beomgyu went to sit across from Yeonjun on the couches. Yeonjun didn't own a dinner table, since he didn't really need one. The living room was where he did most of everything.
Although he was living underneath a house, his place didn't look all that bad. Besides the fact that it was a bit messy, the floor wasn't safe to be barefoot in, and a lot of furniture was missing. No one suspected his tiny house, and that was what mattered.
"Yeonjun, I have a question." "Go ahead." "Why do you steal? What's fun about it?" The room got awkwardly silent after the question was asked. In all honesty, Yeonjun had never really thought about why he started. There was definitely a reason, but he just never thought about what it was. Did he really need to? It wasn't like tomorrow he'd wake up and be a normal person again. He chose this life, and he had to keep it now.
"My parents died when I was young. I don't really remember what happened, but all I remember is sitting in the car listening to nursery rhymes. My mom was in the passenger seat, and my dad in the driver's. It was a rainy day, and it was hard to see outside because of all the water. The next thing I remember is being thrown to the side of the car, and then back again to the other side. I awoke in the hospital, and was told the news that my parents has passed away by the doctors who I overheard talking to my aunt. At first, my aunt was okay with having me live with her. But as I grew older, and I was more mature and "hard to deal with", my aunt started kicking me out during the day, and making me do her labor work. That was when I met Wooyoung, one day when I was taking her car for a wash. He proposed the idea of stealing first, just to make it easier to get some snacks from the convenience store nearby. It was fun to steal, and the adrenaline rushing through my veins made me feel good. Now though, stealing has become my whole life. After I moved out, I relied on illegal ways for everything."
"Wow, uhm, I don't know what to say. Your parents seemed like good people, and I'm sure they miss you a lot! Just like I do, whenever your away from me. It's a shame I won't ever get to meet them, and you probably won't be able to meet mine either...but we can make do by ourselves!" "Right, we can make it by ourselves..."
All of a sudden, footsteps that sounded like more then one person sounded on the ceiling. With no time to react, the trapdoor was put down and a few big men came down.
"PUT YOUR HANDS UP, we've found the prince."
