^^Bridey

Third Person POV

Kiki was speaking with students when she detected Bridey nearby. The two locked eyes, resulting in the vampire approaching. Bridey gave a condescending smile to the student as she asked for a word with Kiki. The student nodded and bided Kiki farewell. A loud sound was heard, so the two turned to see a medical examiner drop his box. A student assisted him while the pair watched on.

"Tragic, isn't it?" Bridey's hands were clasped behind her.

"Truly a terrible incident." Kiki shook her head. "To be so defenseless."

"His parents have been informed. You can only imagine how inconsolable they were." Bridey spoke. "I had Josie speak to them. Soften the blow a bit more." Bridey's eyes watched the detectives search the room.

"Any leads?"

"There were no prime suspects. Just a gruesome kill without a motive." Bridey observed the bloody objects leaving the room. "Blood splattered everywhere apparently."

"Not cleaning it?"

"Not until the investigation is over." She leaned close to Kiki. "They won't stop until the murderer is found."

"That knowledge would make the murderer sweat. You should broadcast it to the entire student body. It'd smoke out the culprit."

"That was my plan, but France disagrees. Claims that we shouldn't be goading the murderer."

"What does Josephine think?" Kiki wondered.

"Thinks there wasn't a motive. Just a poor kid in an unfortunate situation." Bridey shrugged.

"I'm assuming you're the one tasked with conversing with the crime unit."

"Correct. I was deemed more emotionally immune to a sensitive case like this." Bridey rolled her eyes.

"I see." Kiki noted the time, so she was about to leave, but Bridey stopped her. "Yes?"

"I'd just like to make a point clear." Bridey's arms were crossed as she watched the petrified students. "I don't like the idea of my school's reputation being tampered by a wild card. We don't run a foster care for troubled youth."

"Pardon?"

"Gruesome kills like this aren't encouraged on school grounds. I'm not fond of getting supernatural police involved. It makes them more privy to knowledge I'd prefer them not to have."

"What's your point, Bridgette?" Kiki began to get annoyed.

"Don't kill where you plot murder."

"This sounds an awfully lot like an accusation."

"Just clean up better next time." Bridey patted a bracelet against Kiki's chest before walking off.

Kiki looked at it and silently cursed. This was Blakey's bracelet and it was obvious because it had a B+F on it. What Kiki couldn't understand was how blasé Bridey appeared about the entire situation. Kiki assumed she'd be more furious to have a dead student. Kiki shook her head and walked back to the mansion.

Bridey trekked through the school as she hunted down Blake. She found him in the midst of peppering Freja's face with kisses. The two were lounging on a picnic blanket. Blake held up the rose and handed it to Freja, who smiled and sniffed the rose. Bridey's eyes narrowed as she zeroed in on him. The couple spotted her and quickly stood.

"Don't run." She calmly, but dangerously spoke.

"I don't-"

"Freja." Bridey sent her a mocking smile. "You know an accomplice is just as guilty as the murderer."

"What are you-"

"Freja, do you think me dumb? My age is triple your parents' lifetimes combined. When have you begun to enable his behavior and clean up his messes?"

"I haven't-"

"You weren't around to help the last murder, but you'll be there for the next one. Correct?" Bridey pushed. "I don't care what you do, but don't make it another student. Otherwise, I'll be pointing the finger your ways."

"How'd you know?" Blake was nervous and held onto Freja.

"You're not human." Bridey raised a brow. "But, weren't you once before?"

"I was born again."

"You're not a born again Christian." Bridey scoffed. "I sense a murder kink. Are you just a sociopath or do you- you eat them." She paused. "Wendigo? Ghoul? Jeez."

"Human meat is tasty." Freja was slightly uncomfortable, but didn't say anything. "I have my fix every so often. It puts my urges at bay."

"That's the meat... but, you enjoy the kill more."

"You kill too. You're a vampire." Blake stated.

"I protect my brethren." Freja and Blake were taken aback. "That's why I didn't rat you out. Just don't make my job harder than it needs to be."

"I'll be more careful."

"No hunting on students." Bridey lectured. "And Freja, make sure you're aware of what you're getting yourself into. This'll be a lifetime commitment on your part."

"I stand by him." Freja looked down in guilt.

"Well, then. I'll see you both tomorrow. And be aware an investigation is going on, so detectives may question students." She sent them fake smiles. "Au revoir." She left them.

"My lullaby." Blake gruffed out. "I can't involve you anymore. This is becoming dangerous."

"Blake-"

"I put you in precarious situations in the elf realm. You turned a blind eye to the atrocities I committed. I can't-"

"Blake." She clutched his hands. "I'm not leaving you. I love you."

"I love you too." He squeezed his eyes shut and rested their foreheads together. "I don't want to lose you because I won't have anything else. I really, really want you. I'm not good for you."

"I don't care." She kissed him.

"I'm luring you into my life."

"I'd happily be caught." She dreamily spoke.

"I'll do my best to protect you." Blake peered at her. "Lullaby, tell me what you honestly think?"

"I'm scared." Freja admitted and hid herself in his chest. "I'm scared, but know you need it, so I'll help. But, I don't want to. I don't like killing. I really don't."

"I won't involve you anymore."

"I feel guilty. They're dying and look at me. Their eyes pleading with me to save them, but I don't. I stand by and allow you to have your way with them." Freja shook. "I'm terrible. Bridgette was right. I'm a murderer."

"Shh, lullaby." Blake wrapped his arms around her. "You're not. I am."

"I should be stopping, not enabling."

"I can't stop." Blake admitted.

"I don't want you getting hurt." Freja hugged him tight.

"I won't." He promised and kissed her brow. "You should runaway with me." He mumbled against her brow.

"Where would we go?" She whispered, causing him to pull back with a teasing smile.

"I don't know." He swung his arms around. "The mountains? Countryside?" He nipped her nose, causing her to giggle. "Anywhere." Freja looked down and smiled to herself, but didn't say anything. "Afraid?"

"No." She smiled.

"I thought you might say that." Blake then moved forward and wrapped his arms around her. He then softly pushed her onto the ground, so he hovered over her. Freja raised her hand and cupped his cheek. "Still no?"

"I'd do anything for you." Blake paused as she said that.

"I thought you'd say that." He blushed and got off her.

"Did you?!" Freja jumped up and playfully shoved him backwards.

"I did." He grabbed her wrists and kissed her palms.
