EVEN IF HE'S RIGHT
Purple Hyacinth | Chapter 105

"Why don't you act together with me? I can help you."

"The debt is paid off. My last favour is not taking away your flag."

"In any case, you can't leave the station unless I remove you from the group. Do you want to receive the punishment?"

"I know what your plan is. Aren't you going towards Jung-gu? It is your goal to complete the black flag by walking the King's Road. I will help you."

"I would rather take your flag right now."

"Mhm, who's talking so louuddd?!" was heard from outside the tent.

"Damn, that was Y/n unnie's morning voice? Why does mine sound like a chocking duck?" Lee Jihye rubbed her throat with a disgusted and envious expression.

"Life is unfair sometimes."

"You don't need to go towards Jung-gu. Go to the north. The territory of the Tyrant King will be yours and it will help you make your grand flag. Getting a flag and removing the enemy, isn't it killing two birds with one stone?"

"I can do it myself."

"There are 48 hours left until the end of the fourth scenario. Can you occupy 20 stations and complete the black flag in that time?"

"Besides...don't you have a reason for going north? Surely you aren't going to throw away your family member at this time?"

"...You."

"Remain calm. I am speaking in good faith. I really will help."

"Shut uppp!! I'll kill you!"

"Let's just lower down our voice..." Kim Dokja whispered, clutching his stomach.

"You of all people have the audacity to say that?" Yoo Jonghyuk spoke with judging eyes.

"What- What does that mean?"

Yoo Jonghyuk took a side glance at the tent, knowing that the other person would immediately get what he was implying.

"You hea-" the 'protagonist' cuts him off with a sigh and a nod, the squid could've sworn that he rolled his eyes at him as well.

"Awkward..." Jung Minseob muttered, earning a glare from the two.

Yoo Jonghyuk faked a cough before speaking, "There is no such thing as anything free in the world. What are your conditions?"

As Kim Dokja expected, the regressor was quick to notice. He said, "It is simple. Let me know just one thing. My condition is that simple."

"What is it?"

"That guy you just stepped on, what is his attribute? One would be the 'last to get off.' What is the other one?"

"Wake up.." she heard a soft voice. She ignored it because she thought she was dreaming.

"Y/n" Kim Dokja shakes her, trying to wake her up but she just shoves his hand away and then faced the other side.

"Mommy!" Kenji jumped on the bed, tapping her cheek, squishing it and forcing her eyes to open with his fingers.

Y/n hugged the child but still isn't completely awake. Kim Dokja rolled his eyes, how can this woman sleep peacefully after doing 'that' to him.

He couldn't even get a wink of sleep.

He bent down to her ears and whispered, "Wife.."

Like magic, the dead rose from her comfortable casket, confused and stunned, "Huh? Who... What?"

"You're awake, finally."

Y/n who was stroking Kenji's hair turned to Kim Dokja and was met with a smack... on the lips.

"Good Morning." He smiled at her innocently. Y/n unconsciously smiled back, still processing what was happening.

"Rude, you're supposed to give it back." He pouts, it was very much fake and exaggerated.

"Give what back? Good Morning? Good Morning to you too... I guess..."

"No what the f- my kiss..."

"Kiss? Who?"

"Me! Would you like to give it to Yoo Jonghyuk instead? Feel free to do so." He blinks slowly then added, "That was a joke, obviously. Try it, see what happens."

Y/n tilt her head to the side, obviously unable to process the warning at the moment, "Who is Yoo Jonghyuk? No, I have a better question, who are you?"

"Your husband."

"You honestly sound so much like someone I know."

"Who?"

"His name is Kim Dokja. A suicidal maniac with a god complex and has a deadly fart. He's also enigmatic and likes to keep everyone in the dark, that prick-"

"Wow, good to know that's what you think of me." He deadpan.

"But I love him..." Kim Dokja stared at her expectantly, basically urging her to say more, "to the point that even if Yoo Jonghyuk was right..."

Y/n sighed, her consiousness returning to its normal state, "Even if he was manipulating me, it wouldn't matter to me at all."

Kim Dokja was lost in thought after that statement.

Firstly, he's still a little convinced that he was dreaming.

Secondly, how would you react when a person you love say such things in front of your face? And lastly...

This is one of Y/n's biggest fatal flaw, she loves too deep... to the point that the recipient of that love becomes this figure of perfection, something that needs to be worshipped.

That's what happened with Yoo Jonghyuk.

It became an obsession. In the novel, she sort of becomes dependent on him... not in a sense that she depends on him to survive but more of... she would not function properly without him.

And he doesn't know if the author wrote her that way, or Yoo Jonghyuk intended for her to be that way.

If it was the latter, then Yoo Jonghyuk might've been a bigger jerk than he thought.

But one thing's for sure, that wouldn't happen with the two of them. Probably one of the major factors is that it wasn't one-sided unlike the case of Yoo Jonghyuk and Y/n... which Kim Dokja still isn't sure of, but that's what could be seen in the novel.

Y/n noticing Kim Dokja who was staring into the air asked her child, "What's happening to your dad?"

"He probably fell asleep," Kenji replied.

"Let's wake him up then," Y/n told him and the little lad nodded like a woodpecker.

Kim Dokja returned back to reality after sensing two soft lips touching both his cheeks then seeing the most important people in his life smiling at him and uttering a cheerful, "Good Morning!"
