I spent my whole day inside my office until it was time for me to go home. I heaved a sigh when I arrived at Katipunan.

I went straight to the elevator and stopped the elevator door from closing. I stilled when my eyes caught Zia's, they were red and puffy, like she cried.

She nodded at me and she tried to smile but it didn't reach her eyes like it always does.

"Tough office day?" I asked her.

She nodded without saying a word.

"What happened?" I asked unconsciously. "If you don't mind me asking."

"Katulad nga ng sabi ko kaninang umaga, napagalitan ulit ako." She forced a smile. "And a lot of other things inside the company."

I pursed my lips to stop myself from asking any further questions. "Napagalitan din ako kanina."

"At hindi ka affected?"

I shook my head and shrugged. "I'm still his heir. I can piss him off all the time but he can never replace me."

"Respetado ka ba sa company niyo?"

"I think they're intimidated by me. I don't really know but I also don't care."

She nodded and bit her lower lip as she stared somewhere. Her eyes held sadness and it seemed like she was thinking about something deeply.

That sad look on her face makes me want to have a word with their employees. I shook my head, I'm not thinking clearly again.

"Kuyaaaaaa!"

I groaned and opened my eyes. I forced myself to get up and opened the door to stop Hailey from destroying my door with her volleyball player hand.

"Oh, I didn't know you were asleep." She smiled cheekily. "Sorry."

"What do you need?" I asked while putting a shirt on.

"Can you cook breakfast?" she asked and gave me a pleading look. "I want to try to cook but I don't want to burn the unit down."

I sighed and took my phone with me. I was about to message Zia again because she didn't reply to my messages last night but my phone vibrated and I received a message from her.

It was just about the legal papers that I need to hand to her and I left my phone on the kitchen island before I walked to the fridge to get some ingredients.

My phone vibrated again. My brows furrowed when I read the message preview from Zia. I opened the message thread and my lips parted when I read the last message that was sent to her.
