Ao'nung and Neteyam have kept their relationship a secret. Neteyam being an outcast and Ao'nung being the chief's son made things complicated. They only met when nobody is around, preferably in a cove Ao'nung has shown Neteyam which was a sacred place to the Metkayina's. In return Neteyam would sometimes take him on a ride with his Ikran.

They differences never bothered them. At the end of the day the sky always touches the ocean. In this case Neteyam meeting Ao'nung.

Something Neteyam loved about Ao'nung was his hair, he always kept it in a bun and Neteyam always tried making him wear it open but Ao'nung never wanted to.

When he was younger he used to hear that he looked like a girl with his hair down like that. His parents always tried to comfort him about it, but even they couldn't change his mind. He started wearing his hair in a bun only his parents and sister knowing how it looks like.

Neteyam stopped asking knowing that the time will come where he is ready and comfortable. He sees Ao'nung leaving his parents Marui with a frown on his face. Telling Lo'ak that he had to do something he followed his lover unobtrusively.

'I've noticed you from a mile away 'teyam' Ao'nung said walking into the cove of his ancestors.

'What is it yawne, you look bothered' he asks guessing that it had something to do with his parents. Ao'nung turns to him letting out a shaky sigh. He leaned his forehand against Neteyam's shoulder nuzzling into his partner.

'My mother talked to me about my duties as the Chief's son, and that I should start looking for a mate.' he mumbled afraid of what Neteyam would say, they talked about mating before but never went that far.

'A mate?' is all Ao'nung received as an answer.

He looked up shyly not wanting to met his lovers eyes, but when did he was surprised that Neteyam's attention was elsewhere.

He was staring at the Horizon

'You know I love you right? I'd never mate with someone that's not you.'

'I know that, but just thinking about you and someone else bonding makes me feel some type of way.'

'What way?' he asked teasingly

'Jealous?' he said feeling embarrassed, he has never shown this side to Ao'nung. He was happy that he could feel vulnerable around him. He always had to take care of his siblings, nobody really took care of him.

'Ao'nung', 'Ao'nung' they heard, the voice of his sister Tsireya.

'My sister, I need to go but meet me here after the eclipse, okay?' he says looking around the corner to see his sister making her way up to the cove. Ao'nung kisses him and runs out, to meet his sister.
