**Chapter Four**
The first thing I saw as I walked back through the familiar terminal of the Orlando Airport was the face of my best friend Sara as she ran towards me into a tight hug. It was as if we hadn't seen eachother for years.
After the tender moment in the terminal, we quickly made our way back to her car so I could talk to her about what happened. I told her everything about Mrs. McBride and the inheritance, as well as the warning I received about the money. Sara was quiet for a while, simply staring wide eyed at the road as she drove. Her mouth hung open for awhile until she finally spoke.
"That's crazy... I don't even know what to think! What are you going to do with all that money?" She asks nervously. She knew the responsibility that had been placed on my shoulders, but I knew exactly what the first thing was that I had to do, and by the looks of it, so did Sara.
"Move out of the house." We both said together. As hard as it would be, I couldn't stay there any longer. However, it was less difficult because I didn't have much to pack; I had been packing my things without notice for the past month. I just had to get the courage to tell Jessica, and it had to be done tonight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was about 10:00pm when we arrived at my house. Sara agreed to wait in the car to be ready to go when I was done. I gave her a nod and found the strength to walk in and greet Jessica. I knew it had to happen tonight; the kids were sleeping, and if they were awake I knew I couldn't find the courage to leave them. Sure I'd visit, but its not the same as still being here.
"Jessica, I love you, and I've appreciated everything you've done for me over the years.... but its time. You knew this was coming..." I stated as my voice started to tremble. I covered it up by clearing my throat so she wouldn't sense my nervousness. However, she remained calm. She knew exactly what I was talking about, and her reply was just as surprising as her emotional stability during this whole conversation.
"I know. I didn't say anything, but I noticed the packed boxes so I expected it soon... will you still visit? For the kids atleast, if not for me." She asked plainly as she stood to give me a hug goodbye.
I've always believed in the revealing nature of the eye; no matter what you were feeling, it was capable of being revealed through someone's eyes. And when I looked into Jessica's eyes, I saw sadness, understanding, and for the first time: a sense of appreciation... towards me.
"Of course Jessica, I will always be here for you when I can. I could never leave those little monsters behind, you know that!" I stated as we laughed quietly. For once we were sharing a moment together where I felt like she genuinely cared for me. It was just sad that it happened the night I was leaving.
As I walked out of the house with my things and made my way into the passenger seat of Sara's car, I waved one last time to my sister before pulling out of the driveway. Relief had filled me, knowing that that had gone so well. But now, to find a new house.
My dream house, none the less. The house I've imagined for my whole life, and no matter what, I would get it. I had to get it; and luckily I knew just the house to get that I could remodel to make it perfect; after all, I had been looking for a similar house for quite a few years even if I never imagined I would get it. But I had so much to do, and such a small amount of time to get it all done. So, I better get started.
**Three Weeks Later**
I had been staying at Sara's house for the past three weeks waiting for my new house remodel to be done. That's right, MY new house. My dream house. And today I finally got the call saying the remodel was complete! It had cost a good amount of money to buy the house, renovate, and remodel, but I knew it would be worth it! I had even bought my own car to make transportation easier: a jet black 2013 Cadillac Escalade, Platinum Edition. I wasn't used to driving new cars, or luxury SUVs for that matter, but it was one of my favorite cars nonetheless.
