**Epilogue**
•Erin's POV•
"Anywhere I go with you feels like home to me."
That has probably been our motto since that day two months ago at the airport. Now that we were on a break from anything band related - courtesy of Simon, since he knew the stress was killing all of us - Liam made sure to spend quite a large portion of his time with me. Perhaps it's because he still feels he owes me something for everything that had happened those few days before I almost left for America. However, in my eyes he was forgiven ten times over for everything; he has my father to thank for that. But now, I think we're headed for our biggest adventure so far...
Wolverhampton.
And not just anywhere in Wolverhampton, but the Payne house. In fact, this is the first time I will personally meet his family. And I couldn't be more nervous.
And to make it worse, we will also be celebrating Liam's birthday. Which means even more pressure on me.
"Babe, stop worrying so much! They're all going to love you. How could they not, with all of the lovely things I've said about you to them?" Liam tells me, grabbing my hand with his free one. We've probably been driving a solid hour and a half just to get to Wolverhampton, and he has insisted on driving the entire way.
"But Li, what if I say something stupid? Or if your mother doesn't like me and thinks I'm some kind of whore? I just really want to make a good impression..." I whine, but he simply shakes his head and laughs at me.
"Erin, didn't you brag to me once that you were always the favorite amongst your exboyfriend's parents? That they always loved you even after you broke up with them? What makes this any different?"
"Well, for starters Liam.... I actually plan on staying with you for a very long time, if not indefinitely. And the fact that your parents probably have high expectations, with you being one of the most famous popstars in the world... you should be bringing home a supermodel or another famous singer like you. Or a dancer." I said, but before I realized what I had just said, he was already pulling over the car only to turn and look right at me.
"Erin, if I wanted a supermodel or a dancer or whatever I would have just married Danielle and went on with my life. But that didn't happen, did it? As soon as I saw you I knew that you were the most beautiful girl I had ever met, and look at us now? I love you more than anything, and I know my parents will too. As long as they see how happy you make me, then they'll be happy. Now I'm going to get out and open the door for you, because we're here." He says, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek before he happily rushes to the passenger side of the car to let me out.
How was it possible that we were here already?
As I looked up the driveway towards the door, where I noticed that not only was his entire family home, but they were outside waiting for us. Of course there were his sisters, Ruth and Nicola, and his father Geoff Payne who was smiling wide as we walked up the driveway that seemed to extend for miles. But oddly enough, the one I had my eyes on happened to be his mother, Karen. She seemed genuinely happy to see her son after not seeing him for at least 6 months, and on his birthday no doubt. However, when she saw me I couldn't tell if she was expressing the same sadness from the distance she was away from her son, or if she had pity towards me. Had Liam told her about my family? And if he had, would that change her mind about me? Had I already disappointed her before I even opened my mouth?
Even so, I believe Liam could tell I was internally panicking because his arm was around my waist within seconds and he smiled at me as if to say "just trust me, okay?"
He released me only momentarily so he could hug his family and accept his "Happy Birthday!" squeals before he gave me a general introduction to his sisters, turning to his parents right after. "This is Erin, she's been on tour with us for the last few months. She was actually the one I had talked to you about on the phone, mum." He added, and I instantly noticed a change of expression on her face. The disappointment I had sensed before quickly turned into joy.
