**Chapter Twenty-Eight**
•Louis' POV•
It had to have been late when Harry and Niall got back from their dates, since Sara and I got back before them. Though, of course we got back early; we weren't on a date. And unfortunately, we may never go on a date now.
★Flashback★
We were on our way back home from the shopping outlet Sara wanted to go to, and the ride home was pretty quiet. A little too quiet honestly. Sara seemed to simply shut herself down and put up a huge wall inbetween us, but I didn't understand why.
It seemed to take forever to get back to the hotel, but once we did the walk up to Sara's room seemed to take even longer. I don't understand why she's shutting me out, but she seems like she's trying to fight it. I can tell she wants to get close to me, but she's determined to fight her feelings. She's been doing the same thing all day.
And then we were outside her room, and mind you it was probably about seven o'clock when we got back. The only ones that were on our floor was Erin, Liam, and Paul.
"Thanks for letting me go with you Sara. It was fun, we'll have to go out again sometime." I told her, allowing my foolish grin to spread across my face.
"Yeah, it was fun wasn't it? It's been a while since I last went shopping." She admitted, looking down towards the ground. A tear slid down her face and my heart ached. Seeing her this way made me just as vulnerable as she was, and I would give anything to take away all of her pain.
"Sara..." I said, cupping her chin in my hands and lifting her face to look up at me. "You don't have to shut me out like this, love. I won't hurt you like he did; I couldn't even if I tried."
Her lips trembled as I wiped her tears away with my thumb. I was leaning in to go for the gold, but once I got a certain distance from her lips, her hands gently pressed against my chest to stop me.
"Thanks for going shopping with me, Louis. You're a good friend." She told me with a distanced smile, giving me a quick hug before she disappeared into her hotel room. Alone.
★End of Flashback★
A good friend.
That's all I'll ever be? A friend? I don't understand what I've done wrong.
"Louis, are you okay? I've called your name about 5 times now." Erin asks me with a worried look on her face, handing me a cup of Yorkshire tea. She's actually making breakfast right now for when everyone else wakes up, but I came out here to sit and clear my mind. I don't know why, but every time she makes me a cup of Yorkshire tea for me I just pour my heart out to her. It's a strange gift she has.
"Sara. She just... she shuts me out and I've been completely friend zoned and I don't understand what I've done wrong. I just want to make her happy y'know? But she won't let me. Erin, how do I fix this?"
She looked at me curiously and then a small smirk spread across her face. I've seen this smirk before, but I knew there was always a catch.
"Well Louis, you just have to show her how you feel. Sara is so worried about getting hurt that she won't believe you if you're simply tell her. Prove it." She told me, flipping the pancakes that were cooking on the large griddle in front of her.
"But how do I prove it to her?" I asked quizzically.
"I don't know Louis. You'll figure it out on your own I'm sure. Good morning, Paul!" She replied sweetly, turning towards the door to see Paul walking in to hug Erin.
There it was; that was the catch. Erin never make it easy on us when it came to solving our problems. We always fixed them, but she always made sure WE were the ones to figure it out on our own. She says it's because she doesn't want the fame getting to our heads like everyone else. We needed to solve our own problems and learn from our mistakes.
