summer of 1967
Tulsa, OklahomaMadelyn pushed her long brunette hair behind her cold ears and was very cautious about where she was walking. The sun was almost completely gone and stars started to appear across the night sky and she was on her way to the Curtis' house but the walk there wasn't exciting.
She was already scared about getting jumped and she was walking in a unlit, not very popular area that she cut through to get to her friends house. She did however carry a six inch switchblade in her back pocket.
She just kept her head straight and continued walking knowing soon she would soon be at the Curtis'.
She would often get cat called but she tried to ignore it. If she was with anyone from the gang they'd usually make the guy regret it anyway.
Madelyn's heart was pounding in her chest as she quickened her pace to leave the unlit neighborhood. Suddenly, she felt a strong force push her against a nearby brick building, causing her head to collide with the wall with a loud thud. Pain shot through her skull as she gasped for air.
As she tried to regain her bearings, she realized that a man had grabbed her arms, holding them tight against the wall. She struggled to break free, but his grip was too strong. Her mind raced as she tried to come up with a plan. She quickly reached for the blade in her back pocket, but her fingers couldn't quite reach it. Fear coursed through her veins as she realized that she was trapped and defenseless.
Madelyn pleaded with the man to leave her alone, her voice shaking with fear. Despite being a brave and fearless person, there were only two things that truly scared her: drunken, old, pervy men and socs. In fact, she hated socs more than she feared them.
"I don't want any trouble, I just want to have a good time tonight, pretty lady," the man sneered, his smirk sending a shiver down Madelyn's spine. She felt a wave of disgust wash over her as she tried to break free from his grasp.
The man's grip on Madelyn's arms tightened, leaving little purple bruises on her skin. Suddenly, he struck her cheek with a forceful blow, causing her head to whip to the side and collide with the brick wall. She winced in pain as tears streamed down her face.
As if that wasn't enough, the man then pulled down the collar of her shirt and placed a rough hand on her breast. Madelyn cried out in terror and anguish, pleading with him to stop. She felt violated and helpless, trapped in his grasp with no escape in sight.
Madelyn's heart raced as the man breathed down her neck, his hot breath making her feel sick to her stomach. He removed his hand from her breast and slid it down to her waist, then further down to where her pants started.
"Don't even think about escaping," he growled, his grip on her tightening. "You don't want to know what I'll do. I'll hurt you and I'll take my time. It will be unimaginable." His words sent a chill down Madelyn's spine.
With a sickening feeling in her stomach, she watched as he unbuttoned his pants and pushed his hand down her pants. The fear and pain were overwhelming, and she prayed for it to end.
Madelyn cried out for help, her voice hoarse and desperate as she continued to push the man away. She shuddered in disgust as he touched himself through his boxers.
Just when she thought it was all over, a sudden force pulled the man off of her. Madelyn felt a wave of relief wash over her as she fell against the wall, gasping for air. She quickly fixed her shirt and pants, trying to regain some sense of dignity. Her hair was a mess, and she brushed it back with her dirty fingers, feeling violated and ashamed.
Dallas Winston was the first to react, throwing a punch at the man. Sodapop and Steve quickly followed suit, joining in to defend their friend. Madelyn felt a sense of relief wash over her as she realized her friends were there to help her.
