The four of them ran around the city before going to meet up with the rest of the gang. Darry was the only one who was unable to join, because he had late work.

"Hey man," Dallas said to Sodapop as they walked down the street. "Hey, y'all ready for tonight?" Soda replied, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, definitely. I needed to get out for a while," Madelyn chimed in, walking alongside Sodapop and Steve.

The group continued down the street, the sound of their footsteps echoing through the quiet neighbourhood.

They decided to grab some drinks before heading out for the night, but Ponyboy,SodapopJohnny refused, knowing Darry wouldn't be happy about it and Soda didn't drink that often. The group made their way through the city, their laughter and chatter filling the air.

The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows across the pavement. As they walked, the sky turned a deep shade of blue, and the streetlights flickered to life.

As they walked through the streets of Tulsa, the group's energy remained high, and they continued to laugh and shout. Ponyboy and Johnny were quieter, walking behind the others and taking in the sights of the city. Eventually, they all agreed to go to the movies, and they snuck in under the fence.

Two-Bit and Madelyn stumbled through the rows of chairs, laughing and joking as they tried to find a couple of empty seats. It was dark outside, and they stumbled over each other as they made their way through the rows.

After a few moments, they finally found a couple of seats, and everyone sat down. Madelyn looked around at the group, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Anyone got a cancer stick?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The five oldest ones passed cigarettes and beer back and forth, not paying attention to the movie.

As the movie played on, the group whispered and laughed, not bothering to keep their voices down. The night air was cool and crisp, and the leaves rustled in the wind.

After being repeatedly told to be quiet, the group quickly grew bored. Madelyn leaned over and whispered to Pony and Johnny, "Would y'all be mad if we ditched?" Ponyboy shook his head, "No, you guys can go. We wanna finish the movie," he said before turning his attention back to the screen.

"Guys, let's bounce," Steve said as he stood up. Everyone followed behind, except for Pony and Johnny who stayed behind to watch the movie.

Soda, Steve, and Dallas watched as Madelyn and Two-Bit got wasted and wandered around the parking lot. Dallas kept a close eye on Madelyn, carefully watching her every move.

Madelyn and Two-Bit approached a car full of socs, Madelyn stopping at the front of the car to watch Two-Bit talk to them. "Hey baby, you wanna see what's hangin'?" he joked, laughing at his own words.

"Aw, shut up, Two-Bit, before I hang you," someone in the back of the car called. Madelyn pulled on Two-Bit's jacket sleeve, a smile on her face. "Let's get outta here, Two," she said. As they walked back to the others, Dallas put an arm around Madelyn's waist to keep her upright.

As they walked out of the parking lot, the group leaned against the wire fence, watching as the socs drove by. Occasionally, they threw bottles or called them names like "White trash" or "Garbage" or any other name they could think of. The group stood there quietly, with cigarettes in hand, lost in their own thoughts.

Time flew by, and Madelyn put her head on Dallas's shoulder and closed her eyes. "Tired?" he asked, whispering. "Mhm," she hummed in response. Dallas put his arm around her and pulled her closer, feeling her weight on his shoulder. They stood there together, breathing in the cool night air, listening to the sounds of the city.

"I'm going to take her back to Bucks to sober up," Dallas said, taking the last drag of his cigarette and squishing it under his shoe. "Alright, cya guys," Sodapop said.

"Bye Stevie, bye Pepsi-Cola, bye Two," Madelyn waved, her words slurred from the alcohol. The group watched as Dallas and Madelyn walked away.

Dallas walked her to Bucks to get some sleep. The walk there was quiet, other than the occasional random talk that came from Madelyn.

Once they got there, Dallas pushed open the door to find the bar empty and dark, which was rare to see. He walked her upstairs, and she immediately took off her shoes and fell into his bed.

"Dally, can you come here?" she asked, with her face buried in the pillow. "Yea, of course," he said, removing his jacket and laying with her. She put her arm on his chest and closed her eyes.
