"Good-morning sunshines" I say to Jo and my parents as a skip down the steps and into the kitchen.Jo gives my mom a confused/concerned look, then looks towards me.
"Alien?" Jo asks my mom.
"No, must be a traveler possessing her or something" My mother adds on, examining me.
"Are you unwell?" Jo questions.
"Quite the opposite. Today is going to be a good day." I snatch a piece of toast from the toaster and take a bite out of it "Too many frowns recently... I have decided to turn them upside-down today" I smile
"I hope so" My dad walks into the kitchen with a bag of donuts from my favourite cafe downtown.
"See! Donuts, it really is a good day." I smile towards my mom and Jo and rush over to my dad. I give him a quick hug then take a donut from the bag.
"Are you feeling okay?" My dad asks, looking towards my mom in confusion.
"Why does everyone keep asking me that" I say, a slight tone of annoyance in my voice.
"You're never this chirpy first thing in the morning. Especially before coffee." Jo explains lightly.
"You didn't happen to see any slugs crawling around did you?" Jo asks my parents, and they both shake their head no. "Oh, thank god, because this one time these monster slugs came into the school and crawled into everyones brain and made them all rainbows and sunshine and..." Jo starts to go on, but I interrupt.
"What is it with you guys? Can't a girl just be happy?" I say, mouthful of donut.
"No of course you can sweetheart" My mother quickly says, "it's just..." She looks at my father, trying to find the word.
"Unexpected" He says, still suspiciously looking towards me.
I take a breath and regain my good mood. "Nope. Nothing is putting me in a bad mood today, because today is the first day in a long time where my only worry will be to attend school and help Josie secure a date with Finch!" I smile as I throw a wink towards Josie, who I think just choked on her piece of toast.
"How are you going to figure that out...exactly?" Josie says, fearful.
"Oh would you look at the time!" I say, disregarding Jo's question and throwing on my jacket, "We have got to head to school! Don't want to miss the morning announcements, I have a good feeling they are going to reveal the next decade dance theme! I'm hoping for the 50's... I would look great in a poodle skirt. " I smile and give a quick kiss on the cheek to my parents before walking out of the door and into my car, Jo following behind me.
We made it to school soon enough, and Jo and I headed straight to our lockers.
"Mind mentioning what your plan was now?" Jo whispers nervously.
"Well, my dear Josette, where would the fun be in that? And, to be fair, it wasn't my plan, per se. I was just the help." I smirk, and Jo gives me a confused look. I shut my locker to reveal the person standing behind it.
"Lizzie!" Josie says startled. "What are you doing here, you scared me" Jo whispers to Lizzie while she looks around anxiously.
"You forgot your sweater" Lizzie hands Jo a white sweater, "I figured you might need it after the ice-cold way that you violated twin code" Lizzie says, deadpanned.
"Low-blow, Jo" I cross my arms and sarcastically shake my head in disappointment.
"Oh here we go" Josie rolls her eyes and starts to walk away, but Lizzie and I are right on her tail.
