I woke up to the sun beaming through my window. I checked my clock to see what time it was. 7:30. Why am I up at 7:30 when it's the weekend?? I groaned and threw my head back into my pillow, hoping to fall back asleep. But I couldn't. I still had so many questions that were left unanswered. I had to find Hope.
That was a little easier said than done. I realized, I had no idea where Hope lived. I don't even know who her parents are.
I got out of bed and began to get ready. Yet again, my parents were at work. I left a note on the fridge.
Hey mom and dad,
Left to go meet some friends, I'll be home later tonight
<3 Stef
There was a good chance I would be home before them, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I started off first at the Mystic Grill, thinking maybe she would end up there eventually. When I arrived, I decided to grab breakfast there. By the time my plate was empty and I paid the bill, there was still no signs of Hope. I ended up walking around town square for a while searching for her, but I found nothing.
Then I decided that there was one other place I could look. The Salvatore school. Maybe she is up there fighting off yet another monster? I guess we will find out.
I soon walked through the entrance of the school to be bombarded with balloons, confetti, and many other party decorations.
"Stefanie?" I hear from the left side of me. I turn to see who it is.
"Lizzie?" It comes out as a question. I haven't talked to Lizzie in what feels like forever. I remember her having quite the attitude, I hope she grew out of that.
"What are you doing here?" She looks at me and crosses her arms. Well, guess I was wrong about her changing her ways.
"Um, I was looking for someone" I hesitate. "Do you know where Hope is?"
Suddenly her face drops and she her arms fall to her side.
"You know Hope?" Lizzie asks.
"Yea?" I say, confused.
"Oh. My. God. Finally someone else remembers her! I was just going to find her, she must've jumped into the Malivore pit and it erased our memories. But now we both have the memories back!" She says, a little too excited.
"Wait, what memories are you talking about? Did we know Hope before?" I say quickly. Maybe if I couldn't find Hope, Lizzie could answer my questions.
"Wait, so you're telling me you don't remember Hope, as in Hope Mikaelson?" Lizzie says. She seems upset for my lack of memory.
I shake my head. "Mikaelson? I thought her last name was Marshall?" I twist my eyebrows in confusion.
Lizzie rolls her eyes. She grabs my arm and we start to walk out of the school.
"Where are we going!?" I yell. She caught me off guard when she grabbed my arm.
"To find Hope. I'll explain my memories on the way." She says, her face focused on finding Hope.
As we walked, she gave me a whole story on what happened yesterday while I was with Raf back at the school. The Oni somehow, found its way into Lizzie. But luckily, and also kinda sadly, Lizzie was still able to be in control for the most part. I thought of how the Samurai said only the 'broken minded' could be partially in control.
She ended up tying herself to a tree and soon enough, Hope and Josie found her. She ordered Josie to stab her with the sword, knowing it would kill the Oni, but it would also kill Lizzie. So Josie found a solution. She was able to siphon the magic out of the sword and use it on Lizzie, finally killing the Oni. Lizzie told me that the magic in the sword was dark magic. It burned her and Josie to the touch. Lizzie is convinced that somehow, that very magic that she was hit with last night was able to retrieve her memories somehow. She remembered being friends with Hope. She remembered all of us being friends with Hope. Apparently, Hope was the key to destroying Malivore.
