Give Me Hope ~ Stefanie Salvatore

~chapter 3~

When I got to school, the first thing I did was walk to Ric's office. I had to talk to him about what happened last night. I know what you're probably thinking, why don't I talk to my dad? But I just can't. If I do, he will tell me not to get caught up in supernatural business and do everything and anything in his power to make sure I stay out of it. He's stubborn. Luckily for me and, not so lucky for him, that trait got passed down to me. Therefore, I'm going to get involved, whether my dad likes it or not.

I was just about to walk into Ric's office when I heard him talking to someone. I stood near the door so he and whoever he was talking to couldn't see me, but I could hear them.

"What am I missing here? You told me the truth and everything worked out fine" Ric says in a comforting tone.

"Not the whole truth" someone responds. It's Hope. What truth is she talking about? That she's a witch and a wolf?

"Landon and I, we were in love" I hear Hope say.

Now it makes sense as to why she was staring at him at the game the other day. But if they were in love, why did he act like she was a stranger when we were all together fighting that monster? I listen into the conversation again hoping to understand.

"And now he's with Josie and they don't know what we were to each other." Hope says in a saddened tone.

Don't know what they were to each other? How could someone just forget about a person they were, apparently, in love with?

Malivore.

It all makes sense. When someone jumps into Malivore, they are wiped from existence. Every creature or person that has gone into the Malivore portal, is completely forgotten about.

But, why would Hope go into the portal?

"And what do you think your doing Stefanie?" I jump, surprised someone was next to me.

When I turn to see who it is, I take a breath of relief. Although, if anyone else was in my position right now, they would probably be terrified.

"Hey sheriff," I turn to her. The sheriff of Mystic Falls is Mayas mom so I know her well. "I was just a, waiting for my turn in the office but would you look at that" I look at my invisible watch on my wrist "I got to get to class so looks like it can wait" I smile. The sheriff looks and me and laughs. Hope walks out of the room and goes down the hall.

"I'll see ya" I say to the sheriff, occupied on where Hope was going and following her. I catch up to her soon enough.

Hope turned to me for a moment then sighed.

"I thought I said to stay away Stefanie" She says quietly.

"Yea well, I don't tend to listen to anyone." I smile. "What were you talking to Ric about in his office?" I ask.

Hope freezes for a moment and looks at me. She seems to be deciding if she should tell me the truth or lie. Just as she was about to speak  the bell rings and the hallway becomes crowded with students.

"I gotta get to class" Hope says flustered and quickly walks away. I stutter, about to convince her to stop walking and tell me the truth but I decide to leave her be. I huff in annoyance and make my way to class.

After my classes, the bell rings and everyone runs out of the classrooms and into the halls. We had a pep rally today so all the cheerleaders ran out in the halls with their Pom poms in the air.

I personally, took my time to walk out of class, I wasn't as excited as the others. While walking in the hall, I saw Raf coming from the opposite direction the crowd was walking. What was he doing here? He was running and pushing people as he went, he seemed stress. Landon was following shortly after.
