Rinni's POV
I couldn't wait and stand by. The sound of the bell urged me to run faster, faster to my destination. I remember it. I have to stop it! Why did I have to go with the guild and only remember when the king finished talking?! Why couldn't I just remember?! I'm an idiot! Please, I have to make it! I just have to!
"Damn it! They have to keep that gate closed!"
I kept running but after some time passed I felt the ground shake, I already knew I was too late. I continue to run, hoping to stop it much earlier or at least make a difference. When I heard that roar I knew, the dragons were here. Soon enough the attack came, and I ran in the path of destruction it left. It's one damn straight-shot run, and I better make it worth it. I know I won't be able to hit them in my current range.
Hell, I don't even know if my magic will work like that yet. So the best thing I can do for now is run. Run to the epicenter and fight the way I'm used to. Beyond that, the gate needs to be closed. By the time I got there, a lot of dragons had already escaped. I see Lucy still struggling to close the gate. I can see the rock-like dragon going out, which means Lucy will be flung away.
"Forge! Chains!"
The metal I held soon turned into chains and I wrapped it around my arms and chest. The weight will help me stay down, but it will also slow me down. I don't care if it slows me down, what's important is Lucy needs support and I'll be giving it. With that thought in mind, I ran towards Lucy, as the wind threw her back. I caught her just before she collided with Wendy.
"Come on! You do this Lucy!"
I ran with Lucy beside me to the pedestal. Once we reached it I immediately wrapped the chain around it, making a loop for her to fit in. I pulled Lucy over and placed her inside the loop. The chains will keep her steady in case what happened earlier happens again. I knew I wouldn't be the one to help her, so I turned around, ready to fight.
"Forge! Danish Ax!" I said as the metal I had begun to form into an ax head on the wooden handle I held
I know I have to protect Lucy and the others until Mirajane and Yukino get here. Don't get me wrong, I know Wendy is strong but she's gonna need all her strength in fighting these dragons.
"Wendy! What are you waiting for!? You're a dragon slayer aren't ya?! Start doing what you're trained to do and help out" I screamed charging at one of the dragons
Thankfully Yukino and Mirajane came as I was attacking the rock dragon. Of course, when they arrived I was distracted. That ended up with me being flung into the air and landing harshly on the ground. After Lucy and Yukino called the celestial spirits the gate began to close because of their help. A dragon tried to keep the gate open, enough for it to pass through. The futile attempt didn't work and the gate closed. Everyone cheered but I stood up, gripping my ax, knowing all too well the fight is not over. Before I could even take a step, the sun engraving of the gate glowed white. I began to feel a great gravitational force.
"Ah! No! Nonononono, No!"
I slammed the blade of my ax down on the ground as the force pulled me even more. I held on as much as I could but I could feel my grip weakening. I looked towards Lucy, Wendy, and Mirajane as I began to get sucked into the gate. I let go of my ax and tried to reach out but I knew it was pointless. All I can remember seeing is the desperate look on their faces with their hands outstretched before everything went black.
Mirajane's POV
I- We couldn't do anything. All we could do was watch Rinni be pulled toward the gate. We tried to reach her, but we couldn't. We desperately tried. You can see it in her eyes, she doesn't want to go. She wants to stay. But she couldn't. The last thing I saw was tears flowing from her closed eyes
"Rinni!" was all you could hear from me, Lucy, and Wendy
All I could feel was the tears rolling down my face as she vanished into the gate with the white light.
